I've had a bass now for like two years but was never really committed to learning.
I wanted to start back up again and I was wondering if anyone had tips for a beginner bass player.
What songs should I start out with and stuff.

Try Snow (Hey Oh) by Red Hots its a simplpe base line, but do not do that part that requires a pick or strumming.

Ya Red Hot chili Peppers is great for bass :) also try californication by them. also id suggest like Bro Hymn by Pennywise.

Another great band for bass in my opinion, is Muse. Fairly simple bass lines, sounds like at least.

Do something like a slow romantic song. These are usually very simple bass lines. Don't really count on my advice when it comes to bass guitar, I'm just a drummer :P

A lot of u2's stuff is pretty easy but fun to mess around with when ya get to that point. Also is Seven Nation army (stereotypical bass song) by the White Stripes which is easy and fun. Good luck with that.
