I'm not exactly sure how to get my PS3 to play the music I have on my computer and whatnot. I tried to just hook up my iPod to it but it said there were no tracks on it. (What the fuck?) I tried to connect it to a media server but that didn't work. I googled that and came across a good explanation, except that I'm a complete retard at Windows and couldn't even do the first step. So what do I do guys?

My cousin had this problem and my bf fixed it. Connect your ipod and press triangle on it, and select display all (or something like that) ;)

If you have songs on your iPod that were purchased on iTunes before September, I think, then they are most likely DRM protected, which means the PS3 will not play them.

IF you have songs on Windows Media Player, then you can turn streaming on on that, then set it so that the PS3 can connect to it when the PC is on.

Or, you can do what I did and burn the songs to CDs and then rip them to the PS3 :D

I finally got it working. I had to select my iPod to be used as a hard drive and then I found the music, I'm copying everything as we speck. xD Yay!
