It annoys me when girls are in this fourm and they are commenting on something and are like "Ive self harmed for a while I have scars all over my arms" and then you go to their pictures and you don't see scars on their arms. I don't know it annoys me because some of these girls don't even self harm and it's not something to joke about . You don't want to self harm. And if you go to my pictures and say "well your arms don't have scars!" Its because I don't self harm on my arms. And I didn't say I did. These girls did sooo... Yeah.
Does that annoy you guys too?

Also we aren't allowed to show pictures with scars in and also scars that most people have dont easily show up on bad cameras, aka non DSLR cams

Most of the time my scars don't show up in photographs, since they're white, and the camera (even my good one) needs to be rather close to see 'em.
This can't just be me who's got this.
Don't be quite so quick to judge

To be perfectly honest with you, it would anger me if there were photos of everyones scars up there.
It can be very triggering and therefore very harmful to expose people to.

mine are whiter than my skin
so most don't really show up
the ones that do are on places that are not in pictures

I really don't spend my time looking at peoples pictures trying to find their scars. I think it's rather rude... Their main focus in the picture is probably their face, not their arms or other areas where they have self harmed. and my scars aren't really noticeable in pictures.

perhaps they cover it up wth make up becuasae they themselves hate being reminded of it. it's what i do every day cover my arms, ankles, sides, and hands wiht make up.

A picture is a picture not for someone to go "Oh, look she/he has scars, tut..." it's to show your face. It doesn't really bother me because I'm not a Pervy person who examines every square inch of a picture. My scars are not that visible because they heal real quick, it's something I never understand. But also some people take pictures before they have even cut, burned, bruised. Would it be better for you if you could see someones scars/cuts? But as always they have rules on this forum and therfore some people were jumpers A.k.a: Me as one, there is only a few of my pics with my arms exposed and that's because I know you can't see anythings. So no it doesn't really annoy me.

Scar pictures can be quite triggering. We're not allowed to have them up for specifically that reason, and my camera doesn't even pick up my scars. It only picks up some of the dark ones on my thigh and when they're still open (blood, obvs).
I do get what you mean about fake girls, and how annoying they can be. It used to make me very mad, but I've been passive lately (at least on the outside) so I'm just not bothering to get in altercations with them.

truthfully, unless you're doing it for attention... Why would you want your scars to show up in your photographs?
I self harmed for over seven years, and not one photo of mine shows my scars.
And my scars are all over my left arm. Blatantly obvious. But I choose not to show them.

A picture can say a lot, and self harming can mean many things to different kinds of people. It depends on how somebody likes to portray themselves, if somebody doesn't want you to see that they're self harming then there's a chance that you won't really know about it for a long time. Self harming for some can be a way of release. It can also mean a cry for help, and stemming from that it can be shown in a place where the self harmer would want somebody to notice.
There's only so much attention one can get from the internet, if somebody was looking for attention I do doubt they'd broadcast pictures of their scars for strangers to see. I find it hard to understand that mindset if they did because it's not how I think. I'd also find it hard to look into the mind of somebody who would talk about how they self harm when in actual fact they don't. Your idea of somebody lieing is pure speculation. People can have old and new scars, but not everybody, infact a small small percentage of the population regularly takes pictures of themselves. I rarely do, so if I self harmed and had scars, there's a chance they'd be very faint by now or even gone depending on the time I harmed. There's many variables, although it may be irritating to you, just overlook it if you can.

people sometimes dont realize that self harm is a difficult problem and joke around about it. its the same concept as calling someone gay who is sensitive about their sexuality but is straight. the person doesnt know it would hurt them.
i deff dont think they are doing it to hurt you

So basically what your trying to say is that you want people to justify their self harming with pictures? Just because they dont have it on their profile picture does certanly not mean that they dont do it. I dont think and i hope that pranksters would have the balls to post on here as fakers are fuked up.
Anyways is dosnt annoy me because i dont really go around everyone who has posted on here and serach their pictures and bodies for scars or cuts ...

Its kinda annoying if they actually don't cut. But then, ofc forum rules say we can't show them anyway. Theres scars on my arms and a picture of my arms not long after I did it, the camera didn't pick them up. Some cameras don't, and its a good thing tbh. Its bad enough we have to bear the scars on our bodies, without needing pictures to remind us too.

Some people may not be comfortable with their pictures having their scars on, and I don't think you can judge people on whether their pictures have their scars visible. Bad cameras, make-up and all those image editing programs out there can mean we can hide whatever parts we don't want you to see.
Yes, your point may be true for some people, but to others you are being judgemental. I don't think you nor anyone else can judge on pictures but rather on words.

Lol. Oh boy thanks for the people who actually agree with me. And no I don't look for their scars in ever single picture. You just don't get what I'm trying to say it's hard to type out into words.

My arms look like I was mauled by a wild animal, but the scars don't show up in photographs. Unless you're purposefully taking a picture of your arms you're probably not going to see them. Most scars are going to be a slightly lighter tone of skin than the person's normal skin tone. It's only the severe ones that look red/pink, even then they don't show up in normal photos that well, if at all.

Does it hurt just looking at your arms. I remember when my best friend tried to cut her neck, she was taken to the hospital, and a big scar was left on her neck. Whenever we get out, she always covers the scar up with a scarf or makeup. That really annoys me. She shouldn't be ashamed of her scar. But I know shes hates thinking about it. Do you ever cover your scars up?

Sometimes, cameras don't always pick up on details like scars, especially if they have faded, or weren't very severe wounds.
& sometimes, it's not at an angle for the scars to be shown.
& unfortunately, sometimes, people do lie...
Although, to lie about that, must mean they have issues & have lied for a certain reason because of that issue, or issues.

And I'm sorry if the way I said all of this came out all wrong. I mean when I think about it it makes sense and then when I type it put it just sounds like I'm trying to be an ass.
