I have a 91 fairly stock Honda Hawk. I can't find any pics though. Google it. It's a great bike to start out on, and you can mod teh hell out of it.

Awesome man, how far along are you with the rebuilt, are you thinking of staying NA or are you gonna beef up the internals (forged pistons, new cam, crankshaft, etc.) for forced induction?

We just got the cams out. We're getting close to dropping the engine.

It all depends on what I can afford really. I would love to put a turbo on it. I would also love to get a 3sgte engine with a turbo already on it, but that's a little harder to find.

Lost of torque until you hit 3 thousand revs. Hahaha I should know, that red car in the background of my pic is a 2002 (i think) TDI Golf. I did fit a futon in the back of that though. Quite a large boot.

And my mom got 65 on the freeway once. XD

A 1.3L 2001 Ford Fiesta Fun.

Insurance in the UK is mainly worked out from the size of the engine and the age, record and experience of the person driving it. Seeing as insurance is legally required for anyone driving a car, I can't really drive anything that big / nice atm :( It's technically my Mum's car but I get to use it pretty much whenever I want :)

Might be getting myself a 1.6L petrol engine version of one of these (Ford Focus Climate):

http://www.carbodydesign.com/vehicles/ford/2004-09-10-focus/Ford_Focus_2.jpg

They're the utter tits imo and the insurance on a 1.6L would only be about 1K GBP for me as the policy holder, which is cheap in UK insurance terms.

I WANT YOUR CAR!!! But sadly, here in America the closest thing we have to an Opel/Vauxhall is Saturn and Pontiac, both of them are now dead, and only Pontiac produced good cars; in the 80's and before, and in and after about 2006, which is when they realised that GM can produce good cars, but they only do so in Europe and Australia :D

It's funny.

A few weeks ago, I was delivering. I get to the house, and this lady was either drunk or high on something. She notices that we have the exact same car, except hers isn't a hatchback and it's blue. Sits me down for like, 10 minutes telling me how she named her car 'Blueberry', and how I should name my car... then she names my car Crunchy because on one side, there was a dent that was there when I got the car, and on the other side was a dent where somebody hit it in a parking garage in Canada.

Boy people are strange

I like the gen 7-9s myself, but owning an 01 now, I wont go any older. The gen 10's just dont do much for me - i dont really like the styling. I would maybe to an 11th gen. but they are a bit out of my budget here in Alberta at the moment.

As a side note, my top choices affordable in the near(ish) future would be:
- 2003 Cadillac Escalade
- 2003 BMW 330ci convertible
- 2002 Range Rover
- 2002 - 2003 Chevy Avalanche

Hmm. Well, if you can afford the luxury rides (and their repair bills) you should be able to snag at least a decent 2004-2005 at a nice price. You could also check out older Superduties, especially with the 7.3L Diesel, boss ass trucks. :)

I know. lol. when the time comes to upgrade, I'll probably be looking about the same price range all around. the 7.3 super duties were intense. I just have a thing for luxury vehicles - the range rover is amazing, but you have to watch out on them for the air suspension issues, and as much as I like the convertible, I dont think i would ever drive a car in the alberta winter. That leaves another truck, or an SUV, or a bit of both with an avalanche or something.

But, unless someone gets upset at their husband or wife and sells something crazy cheap to get back at them , then thats an issue I will worry about when I can afford to. lol

But, unless someone gets upset at their husband or wife and sells something crazy cheap to get back at them , then thats an issue I will worry about when I can afford to. lol

If you want Luxury you can either look into a Lariat Super Duty or a Lincoln Mark VIII both fairly cheap, very luxurious, decent MPG. The Lincoln packs the same engine as the Cobra Mustang too, the 32v 4.6L V8 with 320HP... :D

I'm gonna get my dad's 74 camaro type lt. It's been bored out, and has a new camshaft, pistons, the works. And also, we have our new baby, a 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, LTZ, Z71 off road package, Duramax diesel with an Allison heavy duty 6-speed tranny, 4 wheel drive, Bose 7 speaker premium audio, and nearly everything except the dvd player and the nav system. This is basically it http://www.autobase.com/photos/00640/1052/10529125_o001.jpg It's still so sad to say goodbye to our '04 chevy avalanche, it's gonna be like losing a family member, because it practically IS a family member. It was special ordered, with EVERYTHING, sunroof, Bose, 6 cd changer, and the list just goes on.

i'll have pics of the camaro up soon.

This is true. Both of those would be interesting. And although a far stretch from what I can afford at the moment, I really like the 2010 mustang convertible too. Would have to be a GT though - the v6 is kinda gutless. And the shaker 500 sound system seems off balance to me.

Not anymore, in the 2011 cars the base engine is a new 3.5L V6 (not the 30 year old 4.0L boat anchor) that makes 307HP, and the GT comes with an all new 5.0L DOHC V8 that makes 412HP. :D

Thats cool with the '11 mustangs. that 5.0 would be sweet. i was just on holiday in phoenix and we rented a '10 mustang convertible. The V6 had a nice exhaust - it sounded powerful, but performance was weak. 307hp for the 11 would be a great improvement. Id still be re-working the shaker sound sytem though (but keeping the sync - imo, its the one good thing by microsoft)

Yup, maybe the Shaker 1000 is better. :)

They have trick mufflers that can make your Prius sound like a Corvette ZR1 but that doesnt mean that has anything else in common with a ZR1...

Thats cool. Its great that you have a car that you want that is unique from most other people. I too like those 70s Camaros but many people dont. Its good that there are still people that like the neglected vehicles.

That sucks dude, a Ujoint isnt that bad tho, its like $15 at an auto parts store and 20 minutes to put in...

On my truck it was 4 screws and the driveshaft came right out. Go and buy yourself a Haynes manual and learn stuff, it will save you a TON of money and get that Jeep back on the road in no time. :)

Nice Ranger, please dont rice out the integra too much tho... :PThanks. I dont make rice i eat rice. That integra has build plans far from rice. A lot of people mistake rice for customization. For what people mistake ricing for almost every car would be a ricer. A ricer is a car with unnecessary items to make the car look fast. My quote: I don't rice i make em look nice. ;).

Yeah lol i get defensive when people call cars rice that are not. but im not saying you called my car rice. Just wanna make sure you understand the definition, before you tell someone not to do it xDD

Is your's identical to that one? Cause it has a CA XMT plate. I really like my 2000, but I want a 2006 and newer one by this summer. Mostly because of the factory tach (finally!) and the 17'' wheels, even though they are a direct fit on 2003 and newer ones. I'm thinking for getting the Street Appearance Package for my next one, but they aren't as easy to find.

Haha, yeah I know. Found out it was removed when it was still in service to keep it low key. They plugged the hole on the a pillar behind the door frame and put duct tape over the hole on the inside part of the a pillar plastic trim. When the state retires their cars they never take the time to plug the holes from the spotlights when they get removed. I was thinking of re-installing another one but I never got around to it.

There is no patch on the actually door, just the U cut. The plug is behind the door on the pillar so water wont get inside. I'd like to cover it up with something so it doesn't look like a taxi, even though most of them here do have spotlights.

I love the black '05! Looks really nice. Is it an original black car or was it a black/white and repainted? How many miles? One of my friends recently bought a '98 B4C black/white Camaro from the same dealership and had it shipped up here.

I really can't wait to upgrade to a newer one. The steering is 10x better and just overall feels so much nicer.

BTW, you sure that's a 2005? I just noticed it doesn't have the AM/FM radio antenna on the quartor panel. And it was standard on all 2005s.

The rear window was replaced right before I bought it. It had a huge crack so its probably not OEM. Its a black and white painted but im getting the interior bits out of a Marauder soon. Im going to replace the front dash piece to get rid of the holes. I put a double din nav screen already tho :) The newer 05 also has a bigger gear ratio so its got a lot more low end TQ. Not as much top end though. Yeah I drove your buddies car when they first got it lol We have bought cars from them for years.

I would love to do a Marauder interior conversion, but parts can be a PITA to find and are expensive. When I get the newer Vic, I'm getting black interior to I can atleast add the Marauder dashtrim with the carbonfiber so I won't have to repaint it. I have factory 3.55 gears and eats gas like crazy. I kind of want one with 3.27s so it would get better mileage, but 3.55s are great for off the line. Top end does suck a little but atleast 2004s and newer have the Marauder airbox so it bumps hp to 250. That'll help a little. You should get the newer 17'' steel rims. They look a lot better than the flat '03-05 ones. Or if you can some cheap alloy whhels, '05 and newe Mustang rims are a direct fit and are pretty cheap on CL.

I've seen the dealerships's cars on eBay, but they don't look in really good condition. Unless they save those for auction and keep nicer ones on the lot. But your's looks quite nice.

My '97 Ford F250 HD 7.3L Powerstroke turbo diesel, 4x4, XLT, reg cab, double fuel tanks, dual 5" Aussie stacks, 4spd auto, and a Spectre air intake. 201k miles. A chip, guages, injectors and aftermarket turbo are coming eventually as well as a 5spd conversion. Im also going to be adding a removable weight rack on the front, pulling hitch, and traction bars :yeah:

Nice, yeah post a pic or two. I recently bought another set of steelies for mine from another friend. He repainted them gloss black so they are really shiny when clean. I used to have trim rings on my other set but I don't want to put them on these because they'll scratch up the rim and cause it to get surface rust.

Thats awesome. :)

The MN12 (Thunderbird, Cougar) chassis is the best Ford has ever made, and one of the best in the world. With a simple spring/shock upgrade, you're car will out-handle nearly every other car. A V8 upgrade would add some straight line power, but really if you just remove your air silencer and put on a decent exhaust, the 3.8L isnt slow. While at that point it might only have 150-160HP, it has nearly 250lb-ft of torque stock, and more than that with the slight mods. :)

Your car is essentially the same as my 1989 Ford Thunderbird that I posted earlier in the thread.

Check out tccoa.com for the Thunderbird and Cougar club of America. The website has a ton of great information regarding our cars, and the forums have a ton of knowledgeable members. I have around 1000 posts over there, same username. :)
