well toanswer your question GIR

a Vasectomy is something that men get when they no longer want to use acondom and get their woman pregnant, its a tube tying method that still allowes you to get an erection and have sex but not cum

Vasectomy is a minor surgical procedure wherein the vasa deferentia of a man are severed, and then tied or sealed in a manner such to prevent sperm from entering the seminal stream (ejaculate). thats the actual defination

The only way you can tell if you have had a vasectomy is to masturbate and see if you ejaculate semen.

Umm first of all, semen isn't made in the testicles. You could cut them off and still ejaculate. The only thing they make is sperm. So unless you have a microscope it's not the best plan. Also the testicles aren't removed. Just the tubes that let the sperm from the testicles move to mix with the semen is blocked. There would probably be a scar on the scrotum from it but it could be very small.

1. You can't tell if you ejaculate SPERM because the SEMEN looks the same without it.

2. The correct word for the stuff made in the testes is called SPERM, not SEMEN.

Vasectomy = where the vasa deferentia are cut. You may be able to tell if you have had a vasectomy performed on you due to scarring around the base of the testicles / any other obvious scars on the epidermis of the testicles.

Whilst you would still be able to produce semen (from the seminal vesicle), no sperm could travel from the testicles into the seminal canal and ultimately the urethra.

The only way to be completely sure is to have a test performed to check if you are able to secrete and sperm when ejaculating.

well if u can't cum, then u've had a vasectomy, also, there might be little scars on ur ball sac.

okay here plain and simple
first of all you still have testicles after a vasectomy.alls they do is cut something on connected to the testicles so that you can no longer produce sperm
and children and teenagers dont get vasectomies.
and you should know if you have a vasectomy because you have to go to the doctors and ask for one

What is up with people posting completely wrong information even after several people have posted correct information and pointed out that this is WRONG. Read what others have written before you post and do at least some research!

Ps. Sorry for rant

I know the testies aren't removed the tubes are tied off..., yes I knew.

True, but you could get it tested!

2. The correct word for the stuff made in the testes is called SPERM, not SEMEN.

I am sorry for the confusion, it had been a long day!

My question is, why would a teenager have a vacestomy done?

Oh my freaking god. You guys who don't know what a vasectomy is and are trying to help? Screw you! Why don't you help people with things that you have a clue about? You are complete idiots.

Now for some reason I feel like I should make this post a little worth while and post the same information that the others who were right have. (just my inclination).

1. A vasectomy is when a man has the tubes that lead to the testicles cut or tied.

2. Semen is made of sperm and other fluids to keep the sperm alive (they need constant energy from the other fluids). Since it's estimated that only 1% of semen is made of sperm, you will still ejaculate or "cum" if you have a vasectomy.

The other portions of the semen are mostly made from the prostate gland.

3. Nothing is done to the testicles themselves during a vasectomy.

4. Why would someone have a vasectomy? Generally, a man would get one if he wanted to have sex, but he did not want to have to use a condom for birth control reasons. (Does not prevent against STDs such as HIV, for those smart ones.)

5. Answering the original poster's question, the way to tell if you've had a vasectomy is to get a sperm count test, or check your medical records. This would show up on both - the sperm count test would come out 0, and the medical records would probably show this as a procedure done.

I don't understand why you would be asking this question, Girl337, but I hope the ones of us who are correct in our information have helped you.

thats wrong, the tubes that go to the testes are left alone, they only cut the tube to the vas deferins...

Okay, just so you know, you probably didn't have a vasectomy because you are a teenager.
Adult men probably get 99 percent of the vasectomies that are done to prevent a woman from getting pregnant.
Basically all they do is tie your vas deferens or somehow block the sperm from your testicles to get to your penis. By blocking the sperm you can't get someone pregnant however you still ejaculate fluids.
So I am not sure what you think a vasectomy is but the way for you to find out is to feel for your vas deferens and any weird stuff...

okay, my bad, but actually, you're wrong in a way. The vas deferens are the tubes that are cut. Those are what I was referring to. The vas deferens don't actually lead to the testicles themselves, but to organs called the epididymis, on the backside of the testicles. The reason I said "tubes" was because some people aren't that sophisticated to understand a new term. They just want an answer. THERE!

NO that's NOT true. only 1% of your semen (the liquid that comes out) is made of sperm (made in the balls). The rest comes from mainly your prostate, and also the cowper's gland. So since those tubes aren't cut, only the ones leading to the balls (testis), then you can still ejaculate.
GOSH people get it right...Don't give advice if you're going to be completely wrong.

You'd have a scar between your scrotum and your shaft, and you can still ejaculate, just they're will not be any sperm.

I don't think a doctor would perform it on a minor without a damn good reason, and if you did have one done it is reversible.

As well, if you cannot ejaculate (i.e. when you jack off they'res no semen that comes out), than you may just not have reached that stage in puberty yet, your time will come, hold in there.
