"Prince William (of the United Kingdom) has slept rough on London's streets in freezing temperatures to raise awareness of a charity's work with homeless young people."

I know that this was to raise awareness but i also think it is for William to stay in the "SPOTLIGH of the PRESS"
Do you think this is a publicity stunt?
Do you think it will make a difference in the UK? and in the world? Why?
I have NOTHING against the UK'S Royal Family, I would just like to know opinions!
(sorry if i have posted this in the wrong section, please move it if it is needed thanks:thumbsup:)

I think he's doing something good. This is obviously raising some awareness to the charity. What better way to raise awareness to get a prince to sleep on the streets? I'm not from the UK myself, nor do I formulate opinions on the royal family, but I find this to be a very good work for William.

I think this was a public stunt but not one done for Prince Williams to get attention for himself and that's it. I think it was a public stunt to raise attention to the specific cause and in doing so, attention to himself.

Obviously it's a publicity stunt, it does have to do with his fame.
But, he's not using it to promote himself and to keep himself in the spotlight. He's using his fame to highligh a good cause.

No, I think it is just him caring about the homeless and trying to feel what it is like.
I don't think the English Monarchy particularly looks for publicity.
If he was a celebrity in Hollywood, sure but not the Prince. He doesn't need it.

I think it's about him caring, and raising awareness. Like Matt said, what better way to draw attention to a cause then to get a famous person to draw attention to it? A prince nonetheless; Somebody who's lived comfortably their entire life raising awareness for those who haven't had such comfort shows a lot. If that was you or me out there, it would go completely ignored. People always question a celebrity when they're supporting a cause. But I say that they're using the power of being a celebrity to bring attention to the cause itself.

i agree with most people. it's for a good cause and it's a prince which is going to make it a big deal.

I dont think it would be for self publicity, that doesnt seem his way to me. I would say, given his position, he likes to keep his privacy where he can.
