Internet Explorer help...

Ok so my internet explorer's history is constantly showing me history of porn. I believe these are adds on the internet but when i clear my history the links are still there. Some help? How do i make the hisotry of this crap that is loading my computer with viruses go away? Or if better how do i uninstall internet explorer?

go to tools ans select "imternet options" then clear the history

GO to the same thing, and Clear history, delete cookies and delete files. Then get AVG Free, and do a virus scan. If you got any viruses or trojans, delete them, and if AVG cant delete them, then go in manually, also they may be hidden, so open up My Documents, and go Tools/Folder Options/View and select show hidden files and folders. Then go in manually and delete the viruses. Good luck

*edit* To uninstall IE go to Control Panel/Add Remove Programs and uninstall it in there. I suggest getting Avant Browser (click my siggy)

Avant probably won't help that much. It's basically the same as IE only faster and with a better popup blocker. Get Firefox (Safer, Faser, Better :P (and yes, I've read the Friefox myths)) as well as AdAware. Sounds like a case of spyware to me!

Oh Feeelix, if you read FireFox Myths, then you should know that it's no safer, actually slower, and junkier than even Internet Explorer 6 :D

Anyway, I think it might have something to do with an executable running. Download and run Ad-Aware (go to Computer Problems sticky for the how-to), update it before scanning, and delete/fix anything that it finds! Because it scans for certain processes it might shut it down so you can delete anything that it finds. After everything is gone, try doing as already said and delete your history, cookies, and temporary internet files. Also, check your favorites for any bad links!

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I feel that your browser has been hijacked. If so, go back to the sticky in this forum and download, update, and scan with Spybot S&D. Then read about the advanced options, and enable the advanced options. Go to the BHO and ActiveX sections and look for a blacklisted item (shown in red). If you find one, remove it. Anyone that has random letters (and/or numbers) and is not shown in green, remove or toggle off.

Oh, and you could take care of the root of the problem and stop going to any of those sites ;)

Technically, the only reason one would label it as safer would be that it uses extensions instead of ActiveX - however, extension can be malicious just as well, so FF is really no safer than IE - though it does use the Gekko engine, which has less holes to cover, so in that aspect, I suppose so. :)

And yes, I agree, you might want to try a different browser, such as Avant Browser or Opera.
