Two year eight students in the US have pleaded guilty to public indecency after they engaged in oral sex during class.
The students had performed the sex act while a relief teacher was helping other students in the front of the classroom, according to reports.
Several students were sitting to block the view of the teacher while the act was occurring, The Smoking Gun reports.
The sex act reportedly took place in full view of several students.
After the incident occurred at least one student reported the incident to the school's administrator, who informed police.
Both students were charged and taken into custody at a youth detention facility.
The students, whose names have not been released for legal reasons, admitted charges of public indecency and disrupting a public school at Houston County Juvenile Court this week.
The female student has been released into her parents’ custody, but the boy reportedly remains in the detention facility.
The relief teacher who was in the classroom at the time has lost her teaching licence.

Teacher didn't deserve to get fired, it wasn't her fault. And what kind of idiots do that in school? They deserve to be jailed.

Although the teacher should be able to monitor the class, it's unreasonable to expect the teacher to notice every single thing, especially when helping a student and when other students are blocking the teacher's attention to the sexual act. I don't know why it was done in the classroom when people were present but I'm willing to bet it was likely a dare or something silly like that. The students who purposely blocked the teacher's attention should be charged also with aiding and abeding the crime.
But what I'm not quite understanding is why the female student is back in custody while the boy is still in a detention facility.

I don't get why they didn't have some kind of parent teacher conference to try and find a way for them not to go to jail but learn that what they did was wrong.

dunno what "relief" teacher means
A relief teacher is someone who fills in for another teacher if they say are sick or something else in which they can't teach. (if i'm right)

well this actually happened in america, not australia. i thought it was a bit harsh for the teacher to lose their licence, however in saying that the teacher is responsible for what happens in their classroom and to have oral sex happening is obviously not good so in the circumstances management probably had no choice but to dismiss them.

I don't see why the teacher lost her license. It's not as if she was sitting watching it happen, she was busy HELPING another student at the other end of the class and there were other kids in the way.
Year 8 in the Uk is late 12 to mid 13.
Year 9 is mid 13 to 14 .
Year 10 is early 14 to early 15.

8th grade in America is generally 13-14.
The same thing supposedly happened in my school. Two 8th graders were in a teacher's aide's office and the girl was either giving the boy a hand job or a blow job when the teachers aide was out. She walked back in and caught them. The girl was highly intoxicated on vodka and after the principal searched her locker he found several more water bottles filled with vodka. Her parents sent her to Germany for some reason...haven't seen her since.

That's filth. Shame for the teacher that wasn't aware and trying to do their job by helping another student.

Youth detention center, that's a bit extreme. C'mon, it's sex, if you act like that about it, TABOO, then you'll have kids feeling guilty for a good portion of their lives. Disgusting, sex is normal, shouldn't be shunned.
Media, porn, etc. probably promoted them, curiosity. They need to be talked to, explained to. Or at least told that the class is NOT the place to do it, once again, curiosity. They probably were provoked by fellow students.
I bet that kid's gonna give good head when he's older... Or, never do it again. See, either (or just the latter) is too harsh an extreme.

1. Kids should not be having sex in school, End of discussion stop trying to defend their actions. Because they can do what ever they want in private.
2. Kids should know not to have sex in school
3. Innapropriate.

T'was a mistake. It isn't our call and we do not know. I mean I honestly think they were punished fairly. They were committing a crime, betraying the trust that the school ensured in them and the children that blocked them out. It will help them grow up. They fucked up, so they as teenagers get to deal with the shit they put themselves in.

The crime is not sex, its indecent exposure and something of that Nature. If you show your penis is public you will be in trouble. End of discussion, I know that sex is not a crime its the act of being indecent.

The thing that bothers me the most about this whole story is that the teacher lost her license? What kinda bullshit is that? She was doing her job and is forced to go to unemployment because of bad teenagers doing stuff in the back of the room?
I hope she contests that and gets her license back. Thats completely insane.

Why did the relief teacher lose her teaching licence? She was helping another student and was completely oblivious. Those students should be expelled for doing sexual acts in a public place. What of the students who blocked her view? Did they get any sort of punishment?

It's not right to have sex at that age, especially not in a classroom! The teacher shouldn't have lost her license for not noticing the two students, but she should have checked the class and have seen the students acting suspicious. But 8th graders should know better and be wayyy more mature.
