Well I decided to get a used 360. Might as well try, So I did. Bought one, bought the warranty. Im surprised that it doesnt have red ring. But there are some things are seem suspicious. The tray sometimes doesn't open, so you have to tap it to make it open. And it makes a weird noise. Kinda like an "ERRR" noise... Im thinking that this person did the towel trick then returned it

Where did you buy it from? A lot of times if you buy something Refurbished that's defective they'll just replace it.

I bought it from gamestop. I bought one with red ring a while ago but returned it, so they gave me another.
( At least I got a free, new wireless controller :l )

Edit: I fixed the disc tray. It was because there were stickers on the xbox and some were getting in the way of the tray. But I took them off

I wouldn't of touched a use xbox 360 personally. 360's are dodgy enough, and I knwo someone who's sold a broken xbox to gamestation, most places don't test their consoles thoroughly enough. If it does break, the shop should have a gurantee, so you can have it replaced.

I have had a 360 for four years now and it has always had that noise when opening just as you press the button. Theyre good consoles :)

But it makes the noise when its loading a game or powering on. None of the other 360's i've played ever done that. And its really loud while its on. I think theres something wrong with the fan. If thats the case ill buy a Intercooler so it doesn't overheat.

Yeah buying a cooler probably wont fix the problem, it could be dust clogging the fan up in which case it would be best to open it up and spray inside with canned air and get rid of as much of it as possible. Maybe replace the fan too if that doesnt help.

Best bet is to take it to a gaming shop and ask if they can service it if you dont want to mess with it yourself :)

Get the hoover on it. that's what i do to get the dust out of my ps3 whenever the fans get a little loud. or why don't you try you tube some might be stupid but you usually find a nerd who knows what he's talking about lol

I wouldnt recommend that at all, putting the hoover inside it could cause a lot more damage, I broke my second PC using that method, fair enough on the outside of the fans but certainly not on the inside :D

Whatever you do don't buy anything to customize it... (No more coolers)

Just return it to where you bought it and tell them it's making excessive noise.

Well I've have it for a few days now and its working fine. The only probably is it has trouble reading the discs. sometimes it will say "Play game" then say the disc is un-readable. And sometimes it says "play DVD" when theres a game in the tray. not a DVD. But it doesn't bother me much. As long as it works, im good

Working from just what you've said there your xbox doesn't seem too bad. Mine does that every few days.
