Hey everyone, in the last few days, my mind has been acting kind of strange.
It all started about 4 days ago, I was walking to lunch with one of my friends, and suddenly, I could not remember what day it was. It scared the crap out of me!!! It was like I was only living in the moment and had no sense of past or future. Almost like my mind had partially shut down. This happens to me sometimes, but it usually goes away after I sleep. Well, I woke up the next morning and I still felt like I was not 100% "here". It seems like I'm fine when i'm doing something, but it seems like I always seem to think "hmmm, I feel like i'm not all here", then I feel that way again. Could this just be stress, lack of sleep, or anxiety? I've never had any "conditions" if you will. It's kind of scary. Thanks for the help.

Stress and sleep deprivation can certainly manifest in these spontaneous moments of mental blankness. Since you mentioned it - has these things been an issue for you lately? In particular, the period of time which led up to the experiences which you describe?

I think it has mostly been sleep deprivation but some stress. Since school started, sometimes I've been staying till 11 pm and I have to get up at 6 am. Also, I've been sort of stressed out about Christmas break, mainly my grades. Since I had the "blackout" I've been trying to sleep at and until a decent hour. Besides that, it was kind of random. My thinking is that it's been building up from not sleeping and released itself. As stated in the original post, it's kind of scary. I hope it stops.

Hah, you sound like me every day. I would say it's sleep deprivation and stress possibly. I would suggest taking at least 30 minutes a day and devoting that to clearing your mind and relaxing. I meditate every other day at least and I notice when I miss a few days because I start feeling different and less focused.

haha glad I'm not the only one! I think I'll just try really hard to get lots of sleep for a few days, because I've also noticed I'm really tired.
