The flashchat

I remember seeing something about changing the flashchat to something else somewhere but I couldn't find it and I didn't search it because I'm lazy and my iPod is slow...

But anyways, if you do change the chatroom, could you change it to something that iPod touch users can use also? Like that website on the talk to a random stranger thread in the VT arcade. I never use the chat because it requires a program I don't have and it's bothering me. If you do change it, please change it to something that doesn't need a special program. Thank you.

#1. Do you mean, need a program on your computer to run the chat, or on your ipod?

#2. To make the chat useable on iPods will be too much of trouble (I guess) for such a small number of users who would use it. Yeah I have a iPod touch and iPhone. It would be good to use the chat room. But I wouldn't use it a much as I would on the computer. But I dont think (again I guess) the Admins would change it that much.

We paid for Flashchat and to install on our boards so I don't think we will abandon it because after the kinks have been worked out, it works fine.
However, I do know what you mean and I agree. If Flashchat is abandoned, then I think it would be good to look for a new chat that supports iPhones :)

We have the capability. We also really need no money, it's just a matter of programming the thing.

However, it does take time to program something like that, and even more time to have it at the quality that Flaschat or this other chat software are at.

I could do it, to be honest, it's just a matter of maintaining that professional quality. These chats come with graphics, smilies, sounds, etc. already pre-installed, so why not just use what's there when, as someone said, it doesn't affect a very large population of users?

Only a small number of people on here use an iPod/iPhone as their only way of browsing VT. It really isn't that important to get on chat on it, if you need to talk to someone that bad PM them or there's the shoutbox which both work fine on the iPod/iPhone.

Just a little update:

It is partially useable. But not useable. There is a box where you can type, but that's it. You can't send anything or see the conversation or who's on. So if this suggestion ever is considered, part of the programming is already done. From what it sounds like, the answer is no but if it is considered.

Like a few people have already said, there's no demand for it. Think about how many people use an Ipod or Iphone or whatever to go on Vt.
Why not just use Pm if you want to speak to someone. I only ever use the Flashchat when I'm really bored.

Flashchat is down right now ,it was causing issues with the server or some such. Ant's trying to figure out a solution.
