You won't like it, and it can dehydrate you. I would recommend not doing it.

2 teaspoons isn't a lot, but it WILL make you sick

a quart (four cups) of sea water (i can't remember the ocnsentration of salt) can kill you if you're not rehydrated soon enough.

agreed with the above, after working around saltwater tanks for a while you know the taste...and the after effects

Salt water can actually help to rehydrate you if you have diarrhoea as it helps to balance out the salt levels in your gut.

Normally, though, it will dehydrate you and most probably make you vomit.

Not at high concentrations
In the human body, we have a certaint concentration of salt/water in us. It's not a lot of salt.
Adding salt to the body creates a consentration gradient, and water wants to make it even on the inside (low concentration) and outside (high concentration, if you're chugging salt water).
The water is what moves out of your cells, dehydrating them, and if they're dehydrated enough, it kills you.

The reason slightly salted water (or gatoraid) can help if you've got the runs is because there's too much *water* on the outside, and you're balancing out the whole salt/water/everything.

yes, i payed attention in biology.

does anyone no what will happen if you drink a cup of water with 2 tea spoons of table salt in it
im asking for a friend dont ask why its a long story
but if anyone could answer i would be really thankful x

Probably nothing, it will just taste like crap but I know that I could easily stomach that.

Anyway why would they want to drink salt water anyway ?

As long as he is totally healthy beforehand and the salt isn't a really high concentration. He should be fine.

Not sure, but if you have an ulster in your mouth you can gargle it for an hour and it cures the ulster.

Won't kill you, but bare in mind you would be drinking the piss of trillions of fish.
