OS Poll

Just wondering what operating system everyone uses. I use Linux and Mac.

I've used all of those, Except NetBSD and OpenBSD. But, as for what I have installed right now, it's as follows:

Desktop:
1.) XP SP2 Professional
2.) Debian 3.1? (I just installed the base system yesterday to mess with it)

Laptop:
1.) Ubuntu Drapper Beta 2 (Kernel: 2.6.15-22-386)

I had FreeBSD installed on my Desktop for a few minutes the other day, but it's my first time messing with it and I was too lazy to figure it out right now, so I installed Debian over it. I'll get around to messing with it sometime.

I've used Dos (Forget which versions), Windows (Have 1.01 and 2.03, but haven't installed them yet) 3.1, 3.11, NT3.1, NT4, 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista (Builds 4074, 5112, 5130, 5270), FreeBSD, BEOS, DesktopBSD, Suse (9.1-10), Fedora (2 & 4-5), [K]Ubuntu 5.04-6.06), Kororaa, Linspire (4.5-5), Debian 3.1, OSx (X86 Version), Slax, DSL, etc.

I can't remember them all. I just thought I'd list some of them. I'm using my Favorite two right now though.

For the most part, I keep things simple and consistent. One computer, one OS (until I can find a stupid floppy so I can install OS's on my SATA ...:|). But, if I had a choice, I'd probably sway with getting an innovative, flexible Linux distribution - I would right now, but I can't afford it, much too expensive :)

I have Xp Professional but i cant get SP2 because its a copy but i think i will try linux just for looks really and experiment with a few Os systems!

I use window's XP, becuase it so easy.

i have Windows XP home edition

its ok i guess....compatable with almost everything

I installed XP on my comp temporarily last night, until I get my new hardware. I had in installed for TEN MINUTES and it crashes! What a world!

I have XP and it's never crashed on me. It must be an operator error! :P

I've never had a crash - or at least one I didn't intentionally create :rolleyes:
Why did it crash? Were you installing something or overkill multitasking? The only reason a crash would happen is incompatability (including bugs in programs) or a memory overflow.

My computer rarely crashes but the only time it crashes regularly using Avant to print something, but the computer is being wiped soon so might cure it

Ya, i use xp mainly b/c i am a gamer and almost all games only run on xp. tho i plan on downloading a distrabution of linux to put on a cd (if i can do this) so i can boot it instead of xp wenever i want, than go back to my cap to play my games.
