Hey guys im 16 (The legal age to have sex in Britain) and im still a virgin, I'm at college now and im starting to notice that more people are losing their virginities. This, I find worrying as I go to university in under two years and I really don't want to go to university still a virgin. I'm not bad looking (bigheaded much?), I don't have a girlfriend, but that doesn't really bother me as I'm not looking for one right now. I just basically don't want to be the last person in my year to lose their virginity, any comments or tips would be helpful and greatly appreciated.

DO NOT RUSH INTO IT. Jeez. I know you want to lose your virginity, but you shouldn't rush into it. You should actually do it with someone you love. And wait, or at least I think you should. Your young, you got your whole life ahead of you. You should really wait until you are with the right person and are truly ready. Like I said and probably many people will say, don't rush into it.

Another thing. I think I am a decent looking guy, yet I do not think I am bigheaded. So don't think because you have a somewhat high opinion of yourself does that make you big headed. ;)

I dont think you guys understand his problem. Its actually a massive thing in Britain, I know coz im 16 and live here. I lost my virginity at 14.. So ill try actually help you out with a few tips and rules...

> Make yourself always available for friends and parties! Parties with alcohol especially as this is often where sex happens as your friends will tell you lol.
> Dont ever worry about it, this makes you seem nervous and no girls like a nervous lad. Try be really confident even if you aint got a clue.
> If you think your actually gonna have sex then please for the love of God wear a condom, its true it does gain you respect no matter what your friends say.
> If you are drinking alcohol make sure both you and your intentional 'partner' are within a safe limit, being too drunk and having sex is actually illegal.. I wont go into details.. just drink sensibly.
> Wear aftershave, any aftershave, its a great way to show you care about your appearance but doesnt make you vain and the girls will appreciate a nice smell. I wont go into other personal hygiene rules... I hope you wash regularly anyway haha.

Sex is not that big of a deal it's over rated. You don't just lose your virginity because your friends are you do it because you love someone. If you stress yourself over trying to get laid and go out to hook up with some drunk kid like the above poster is suggesting then you better be ready for the physical and emotional things that come with it which may be a std or a pregnancy since condoms can break. It's better to wait until you find a girl you can TRUST and that you LOVE that way it's not only more meaningful, but you're doing it because you want to and not because you feel obligated.

its only a big deal to you if you cant be yourself and must follow the crowds

loads of my mates ar 16 and we never talk about sex because its not a big deal to any of us

Actually Empty, I wasnt suggesting he goes and has drunk sex, I just said parties with alcohol would increase the opportunity for it. I even offered valuable advise not to get too drunk.

As for Cloud aswell, he asked for help to lose his virginity.... not whether or not people thought it was right..

I will bet you that even if you don't have sex until university, you won't be the last one. A good number of kids are lying when they say they've already done it by 16, trust me.
If the only reason you want sex is so you don't feel like the odd one out, you are not mature enough to handle it and you are going to regret it. Do yourself a favor, and wait.

Sex isn't just something you do because, "everyone's doing it," and anyone who will pick on you for not having had it isn't worth worrying about. I know, it's the generic advice you were probably expecting to hear, but it's kind of the truth.

I cannot stress how silly it is to go out and have sex with some random girl just so you can say you've done it. You won't enjoy it nearly as much as you would if you actually cared for the girl, and once you do find a girl you care about you may regret not waiting for her.

i'm 16 also, i don't plan on having sex till i find someone i'm in love with

i dont' care if i'm 20 and i haven't found anyone, i want my first time to be with someone i love, sex is waaaaaay to emotional to waste on someone who u have no connection with.

don't worry about being that last one, probly about half of the kids that have had sex wish they hadn't

having a willingness to wait shows maturity and strength of character, and when u do find someone ur in love with they will be uber happy that they get the be ur first.

Hey thanks for the posts guys have really helped a lot and I really appreciate it! Should have worded my first post better really, but darkiouz actually had it right, I wasn't really asking if people thought it was right, I was more asking for help in progressing towards 4th base. Also, Im don't wan't to have sex to fit in, that would be silly. I was just saying that some of my friends of a similar age are having sex, albeit mostly with girlfriends, and I wanted to have sex for the experience, not to be respected. I don't mind if my first time is with someone I love or not, I would just like it to happen sooner than later. Nobody is picking on me for it, about 50% of my year are still virgins aswell, there isn't anything wrong with it. Thank you all for your help!
