Just kinda thought it would be kinda nice to have a little list with banned user names and why they were banned. I know because this is a "teen" based thing it might help some users stay safe.

Well, once a member is banned they are no longer endangering anyone's safety on the site. I'm not sure how it would help.
Also, bans are sometimes temporary or are later reversed. In those cases, I don't think the affected members would like having that info publicly available so that when they come back everyone knows the full details of why they were in trouble.

That's between that user and the staff I don't think that the members should know anything about a member's punishments are bannings unless that user tells them.

I've seen other sites that list the banned members, but I've never seen one that lists why they were banned. The reason a person is banned really isn't anyone's business.

That's an idea I'd like to see, but it's not exactly fair on the banned member.
If they get 'un-banned' or it is only temporary then I don't think they'd be very happy.

Being banned is not a public matter. People shouldn't have to be on a list about why they got banned.

The problem if you publish a list of banned members is then you will have people ask "Oh why was XYZ banned? Thats not fair!" It would suddenly become an issue. Trust me its not an issue. The very vast majority of people on the banned list are people you will have never known or will never remember. Publishing would create an issue out of a non-issue.

Couldn't have said it better myself, thank you Alex.

I'll admit I would be hard pressed not to ask who someone got banned. The ones I wonder about the most are people that had many posts. Like I've always wondered why Donkey got banned. (I think his name was John?) He must have stirred a pretty nasty hornets nest. But see, that's the problem. People would be even more tempted to ask. I say it's a bad idea.

Wouldnt that sort of thing be ageist "Mod Rules"? From a source... I hear there is this type of rule. But I guess that wouldnt be in place (as much) if this sort of thing was put in place.

Donkey didn't actually get banned.
He decided he was going to leave, so he asked an admin to 'ban' his account. Basically to show that he wasn't coming back.

He was actually banned, but I won't go into detail over why. We don't ban or delete accounts on request, although people do ask.

Oh right, I just remember him mentioning that he was going to leave and assumed that he asked someone to ban him...

He did, but he wasn't banned over that.
