who has an overprotective brother?

my brother caught me cutting the other day and now he will not quit hovering over me. Every time i go into the kitchen he follows me to make sure that i don't suddenly grab a knife and hack at my arms. It's really getting annoying! He even got some of his friends, jake, stacey and luke who are in my homegroup to keep an eye on me. He took my scissors and compass out of my pencilcase and is totally freaking me out. :eek:

Has this happened to anyone else? Please tell me i'm not the only one with this brother problem!!!!

he just cares about you. if he didn't care... he wouldn't want to protect you. it shows someone loves you. nope i havve no one like that.. my mom when i told her she didn't get me help for 3 years... and that is after i asked for help

As it's been said, he just cares. The thing is, he needs to know to give you some space.
Try sitting him down and telling him that it's not all the time your going to cut, and no matter what he does anyway you'll find a way to, if your desperate for it.
When many people find out that who they love and care about is self-harming, they often take it all the wrong way as they aren't too educated on it.
Let him know that taking all the things away from you won't help, because when you get that urge, it's sometimes too over powering to ignore.

I'm not condoning self-harm, but if he takes the things you use, you may end up just using anything you can find to cut, even if it's not clean, which could cause you to get an infection in the cut, which can be very serious. Make sure you keep them clean.

I agree with the above two post, he cares. You will think about this later on in your life and realize that he was helping you.

Can you really blame him?? I think if i walked in on my little brother cutting then i would be in shock!
You need to let him see that he can trust you before he will leave it. Just say quiet for a while he wont be so up in the air in a while once he gets 'used' to the idea.

I know if my brother ever caught me cutting, he may just be like....

But he doesn't live with me so I guess, it would be hard for him to catch me..

The ony thing I can think of is the cuts on myarm if he was to see.

Plus I wou beg him not to tell mom... I don't want to be taken away again.
