there are a few factors that count for extra weight, such as your height and how much muscle you have, try a diet that concerntrates on healthier foods rather than less food, less food is bad if you dont eat enough because the body stores fat to use becase is needs the energy ( so i have heard anyway )

You could easily have a thyroid problem
That could be responsible for it
you should see a doctor have some tests done

I knew a kid that was really overweight once
he had a thyroid problem
it wasen't his fault
I ate more then him and i've been underweight my entire life

excersize is the best solution.

I think you should go and talk to your doctor.
Find out what is behind this.
It could be a lot of things as people have said.
Your doctor will be able to do tests to see if it is to do with your metabolism, your thyroids etc. Or if its just to do with your diet.
It might also be an idea to keep a (completely honest) food diary for a couple of weeks so you can show your doctor exactly what you have eaten.

Goodluck with things! :)

i dont really think its an eating problem u have. unless ur very muscular, 240pounds at 13 isnt really caused by eating unless ur like those people who have mcdonalds every day and tend to drink more coke than water etc. u should go to a doctor because as whisper said, thyroid problems can cause things like this. you may have a condition that u dont know about, are there any other people in ur family(sister, brother, mother, father, grandparents, uncles, aunts) that have weight problems? because it may be genetical and maybe u think ur eating less but what ur eating is high in colesterol so check what ur eating.

seems more like a genetic thing. one of my friends is big and buff. his mom is tall and his dad is all muscle and in conclusion of his family they are all large in body size.

Genetics plays 10% metabolist 15% Eating habits (How you eat and what time) 5% How much you eat 55% Rest excercise

Not sure if numbers are EXACTLY what they are suppose to be but they are about that...
