A countdown on google

I'm getting a countdown appearing at the bottom of the page in blue letters its at 1671905 at the moment, any ideas what it is?

it's weird, Ant said to me on msn it may be a countdown till 2010 but seems weird they'd chuck it there.

It /is/ a countdown to 2010.
As of this post, it was at 1685020 seconds (For my time zone), which if you convert that to days, it's 19.5 days. (Which is roughly how many days are left in the year....)

What is there to get about it? It's a simple countdown. But yes, it is confusing as to why they put it there.
