So im a huge music fan, so i sing.
not that im any good but, my voice
got deeper abt 3 yrs ago and it got
realy deep over the beggining of summer
of 09'. But when I sing along to a song and
I try to hit a higher pitch my voice gets really
raspy, and i cant hit the note. i cant even
scream lmao. question is... is any1 else like this?
iknow its just a puberty phase and my voice is
changing, but will this ever stop?

Sorry if you dont understand, I tried to make it as clear as I could.

You're just going to have to deal. You're voice has gotten too deep for you to be doing that. Though, I wouldn't know why anyone would want to. :P

eventually, your voice will finish to change, I once asked the question here, and for most guys it took severall months for their voice to be definitive.

if you have a too deep voice, you can take singing lessons to work out your voice ;)

Hey dude I'm a singer (I sing b'way not rock but still) and when you try to sing a note that's too high, you're putting your voice box in an uncomfortable position. It probably hurts a bit right? Well this isn't something puberty will fix. Those notes are simply out of your range. If you REALLY wanted to you could take up voice lessons (which are really expensive btw) and try to expand your range, but your post makes it sound like you don't really wanna do that....

Hmm.. my voice is really similar, like if I try to do Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do, I can do everything except for the last Ti & Do. It just comes out like a raspy breathing sound, even though i can feel myself trying to make the sound.

As my voice got deeper I also noticed that I can't sing as well as before :(

As others have said, try singing lessons, there are ways of hitting higher notes with a deeper voice and they will help train your voice into hitting them again.

Theres nothing you can do about that I'm afraid.

I sing, and the way I hit the higher note is by squeezing my... No, I'm joking. What I have to do is imagine you're yawning, but instead of inhaling, you exhale and form the sound. It works for me, sorry if it's a bad explination.:P

I know i'm not a boy, but for some reason or another my voice decided to take a huge change a while back.. and i like to sing.

I'd suggest waiting a little. It's probably still changing a bit, and obviously your voice getting deeper is going to make it harder to reach high notes (...obvious statement is obvious). Once it settles out you can start working on re-learning how to sing higher again.
Yes, relearn. 'cause your vocal chords have changed.
I'm not saying guaranteed to hit what you used to (I sure as hell can't) but don't freak yet.

...I need to stop posting in p101...

If you're voice is too deep in general then you might never be able to hit those high notes ever. Although if you're voice is just changing then it might even out eventually.

You don't need a highpitched voice to scream...

Wonder.

My voice is really deep but if you keep doing the highest pitch you can, it will raise possibly. Or maybe I'm just special. I can sing with Mindless Self Indulgence and Jimmy sings really high (Listen to Shut Me Up). I can go even higher than that sometimes if I try really hard. Just keep practicing.

I'm the same. I can only talk in a certain range. I used to be able to go really high, but now, when I try and scream, nothing comes out...

That's just puberty. Another thing is that you are tightening your vocal cords when you're forcing the high note. Just relax and let the air flow through. I have been very successful with this method; it allows my falsetto to go to as high as high C. And just practicing. (I'm a singer BTW.)

Hey, this is the worst thing in the world isnt it? The only consolation is that it gets better.

When your voice settles you'll fall into a vocal range, probably tenor or bass. You'll probably find that once this happens your voice will improve again (mine did). If you're struggling with range, try to sing in a lower octave and stretch down to the low notes - it think it sounds less noticable and hurts less then singing at the top of your register all the time :)

(So you know I'm not just saying random things :P: I'm one of the music directors for a church)
