There is this guy from my school we are just friends, and getting to know each other. We were talking on myspace then he gives me his number and says don't flatter yourself please. I never asked for his number and i never texted him. What does that mean ?

yeah, I usually do that without actually meaning anything special... he probably gave it to you just so you can be in contact with each other without having to be online... he probably expected you to give him yours too...

I think he just means that you shouldn't take that action too seriously, he just wants to be in contact with you outside of school and the internet.
By saying that he is probably just trying to make it seem as though it's nothing "sexual".
