Eat less, train more.

First, not everyone has abs. Might seem so on TV. I'm willing to bet more people have bellies than abs.

If you want abs do exercices that target the abs. Like crunches and sit-ups. Be warned though that to look ripped, the fat layer on your abdomen needs to be from very thin to not there at all. That's likely not something you can achieve "FAST", and only with crunches and sit-ups. You will also need cardio. Run around.

At 15% body fat I don't have abs, even when I actually do have a strong core as it's required by my sport. The fat hides it. People that do have abs have low body fat %s. A magic diet won't give you that. A lifestyle change might, depending on your willpower.

A few random, general tips :

Spot weight loss is a myth. Don't even think about targeting weight loss in the abdominal area.

Losing weight fast is a myth, that is unless you're willing to gain it all back later. Stable, sustained weight loss is the healthy way to go.

Don't starve yourself. You'll see the kilos drop fast. Then once you must eat you'll see them coming back faster.

As you said super weight loss pills and teas are bullshit. The only thing you need to do is eat less and train more. And you need to make it a lifestyle change, else you'll just take back everything at the slightest failure.

I dropped from 200 pounds to 163 pounds in a year (I'm 5'11"). It's definitively doable. It took me a year of stable weight loss, but the kilos aren't coming back. It's just discipline.

Good luck.

I use P90X. Honestly... Best thing. It is hard and pretty much working my abs. I can already start to see them. A hefty price for something that actually works. If I would've known about the above post before I bought P90X I wouldn't have bought it, but oh well. It works doesn't it?

Pardon me if it isn't sarcasm (lol writing) but...

What exactly in my post doesn't fit with using overpriced training methods? If it gets you in a sweat, good for you. Running a couple miles also gets me in a sweat though, and it's free.

Fitness products are not often needed. I can understand things like supplements and weights, but not stuff like those ab benches, diets and ultra special workout methods. In the case of ab benches, unless you've got back problems, do sit-ups. You get the exact same thing and I saved you 4 payments of only 39.95$!1!!1!1!!!11!! Diets can be disregarded by eating less and training more. Workouts...well...maybe I'm being ignorant but I just do competitive judo 3x a week, run around on occasion and it's enough for me as well as cheap.

If I misunderstood your post as shifty sarcasm when it was not, please disregard.

i mean im thinking about buying something like that, im not overweight but im not skinny. i think exercise is the best way to go though, if your metabolism is right. just exercise daily for a set time for a long time and if you dont see results talk to your parents about maybe getting a commercial product

No problem. It was not sarcasm it was the truth. And with the AB ripperX (Don't laugh that is it's real name :X) I don't need anything special. Just many special forms of crunches, and situps.

Eat a good breakfest, lots of proteins, work up to a hard sweat everytime you work out. Do alot of cardio then some lifting, eventually the weight will come off.

You need to be really careful with your calorie intake - try this website: www.weightlossresources.co.uk
You need to add details of everything you eat (which often means weighing food) and it then calculates how many calories you are eating. It will also tell you how many calories you should be eating so you know what your target it. You then need to stick within the target for calorie intake.
It costs about £11/12 a month, but I thoroughly recommend it! It's a very good site - all about sensible eating and also has a members forum - and they are very encouraging. I think they still do a 3 day free trial, so it's definitely worth a look. You may think you know how many calories you are consuming but it's surprising how much you underestimate. Give it a go!

This isn't true for everyone I actually did starve myself thin and keep it off but again I don't recommend it, in order to keep it off I had to stick to good food and exercise the second I started eating again I got lucky as hell.

Besides starving yourself thin is very stupid as around 60% of the weight you loose is muscle as opposed to fat.

if you take a ball like a dodge ball and do crunches with it under your lowerback and youll get about twice the results from the larger range of motion and loose alot of stomic fat thats what i did =)

"Order the Ab King Pro"
lol I've actually been thinking about buying that, if it sucks, I can always return it...

Apart from that the best advice is excercise, less food... and LOTS of water. Do NOT starve yourself though. You need calories to keep the body healthy, but too many is when you put on weight.

Here is list of fat burning foods...

Fruits rich in vitamin C like limes, lemons, oranges, guava, grapefruit and tangerines have fat burning properties . Vitamin C dilutes the fat and makes it less effective and helps in releasing the fat from the body.

Nuts and milk are also considered effective fat burners..

Breakfast foods like Oatmeal, skimmed milk and whole grain cereal and even spicy foods containing peppers are considered as foods that burn fat. Oats are a good source of vitamins, minerals and fiber. The capsaicin present in peppers induces the body to produce more stress hormones which in turn revs the metabolic rate burning more calories in the process. Soy is the wonder product, which has chemicals, which help fat from being deposited and also helps to act on the fat deposits in the body by breaking them down. Soybeans enhance the body’s ability to do away with fat.

The juice of garlic or the oil of garlic has the same protective property towards body cells and catalyses the action of getting rid of body fat. Many Indians aware of this fact are mixing their atta with soy flour.

Black Tea, coffee, and green tea also perform the same function. Consuming these foods and doing exercise would increase the metabolic rate of the body. Since the metabolism is boosted and the foods themselves are deficit in calories, the energy and fat that is stored in the body help in the digestion process. In short such foods take longer to digest and require more energy to break them down. These foods are often termed as negative calorie foods. Such foods often contain a lot of water, high percentage of fiber and are low in fat.

Water has always been in the news. Not only is it a natural product, which suppresses appetite, flushes toxins and excess sodium, but is also known to have contributed to an increase in the metabolic rate. The liquids and solids present in soup is also said to have the same properties. Low fat yogurt has been touted to be a rich source of calcium, which helps in weight loss.

Some of the other foods that may be included in the list of fat burning foods are asparagus, beet root, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, chillies, soybeans, sweet potatoes, apple, blueberries and watermelon. Pectin in apple restricts the cells to absorb the fat; and also encourages water absorption from the food which helps in releasing the fat deposits from the body.

Eat in moderation, go in for complex carbohydrates and whole grains, limit saturated fats, eat fruits and vegetables, rev up the metabolism and sure enough those foods that burn fat will do their job. Remember it is a combination of everything that is going to ensure that you burn those deposits of fat.

Cheers
