Hello,
About 2 years ago I broke my finger playing soccer. I didn't know it at the time, and didn't seek medical treatment. My second knuckle of my ring finger (the one closer to the base of the hand) swelled to twice its size, and I thought the swelling was just temporary. However, the swelling hasn't gone down. I think the bone chipped and might have been surrounded by scar tissue.
Is there any use to having surgery done on it? One of my parents is a nurse and says surgery is too risky for an injury that minor, but my finger hurts occasionally, and I know it can only get worse as I get older.
