Does having armpit hair increase the amount of sweat produced in your armpits? Recently I've been sweating through my shirt a lot, especially where I have more hair (right side). Just wondering!

I suppose the sweat could get stuck on the hairs..
But I highly doubt that more is actually produced, unless you start sweating more (as you do in puberty) at the same time.

Hormones will accelerate the work of sweat glands. The hairs do not cause the sweating but they are caused by the same thing, meaning they will happen at the same/similar times

its just you growing up and going through puberty. your sweat glands will have to work extra ahrd now because your growing.

Hair won't effect the amount of sweat, only how much it smells if you don't wear deodorant. Its really a good thing they invented deodorant. Can you imagine what a gym full of freshmen would smell like?

it traps heat so it may increase sweat a little bit more.

I think it does. I mean, I used to be the same way, that was b4 I trimmed/started trimming my pit hairs. Now I'm fine.

Don't spam....

But I think it could cause some excessive sweating... Or maybe it's just puberty??

Sweat is the body's way of cooling itself, and is controlled by sweat glans. I don't see a connection between glans and hair.

What matters in sweat under arm depends on the number of pores in the armpit not the number of hairs
