First of all I want to say I love this community and so happy I found it as it has a lot of great advice and support. I really appreciate everything the site has to offer.
After saying that, I have a read a lot on here about people wondering whether or not they should come out to family/friends and how/when they should do it. I have been in the same position for some time now and it has been driving me crazy. I am the youngest of three boys and my oldest brother has already came out to my parents. You may think then it shouldn't be hard for me, but it still really is. My parents were accepting of my older brother but they were definitely disappointed and figured they still had 2 more sons to live a "normal" life. So there has been a lot of pressure for me to live the straight life. I also really love my parents and would hate to let them down, but I know I need to do what is best for me and what makes me happy. I know I won't be rejected as my older brother wasn't but I know it will be a let down for them which is really what is hurting me. I know everyone here has different circumstances but after doing a lot of thinking and reading I have decided I'm going to tell them on Christmas. Really though what has inspired me to do this was a movie called "Make the Yuletide Gay". I would encourage any of you in this position to watch this movie as it is actually pretty good for a gay movie but there is also an overall message of acceptance for being different which is what inspired me. It is a comedy so it is funny but still has a clear message, also the guys in it are pretty cute :) So anyway hope this sort of helps and if you end up getting a chance to see this I would be curious to see what you think and if it helped at all.
