A COMMERCIAL jet was forced to divert after a passenger gave birth to a boy mid-flight.

The Southwest Airlines plane was heading to Salt Lake City and flying at 30,000 feet when the passenger went into labour.

The plane was immediately diverted to Denver and two doctors travelling on the plane came to the passenger’s aid.

But the child couldn’t wait and the doctors helped deliver the baby after moving the woman to the rear galley just before the jet touched down.

As soon as the plane landed the mother and newborn were rushed to a Colorado hospital.

“She and the baby are doing well,” Beth Hardy, a spokeswoman for Medical Center of Aurora, said.

The baby’s father and at least one sibling were also on the plane, a Denver TV station reported.

Do we have a link to this story? Saw it on one of the news channels and was surprised to say the least.

Can you please not type in all caps please? It gives people the impression you're yelling. But yes, it was a very interesting way to be brought into the world. But I can only imagine the pain the mother was going through. No epidural...no type of pain killer. Talk about hurting.
