No longer linked pictures in sig?

I'm just wondering because my linked picture thing, I don't know what to call it, no longer is linked, nor updates, it's just a picture. And I've seen this with other used to be linked pictures in people's sigs.

I know that pictures are now uploaded to the server. That doesn't answer my question. My question is can pictures still be linked. It's a simple "yes" or "no" question.

To have an image in your signature you have to upload it sort of like how you upload your avatar. To upload it do it on this page
