I get them, yes. Usually after laughing hard.

people generally get hiccups by swollowing air to quickly, like when you laugh quite hard, you can hiccups because you gasp so much air when laughing, same with drinking, if you gulp to much you get hiccups

It's caused by a disturbance in your normal breathing (Steve gave some examples of this) and can sometimes be "cured" by a second disturbance in your breathing - hence why people sometimes try to scare a person with hiccups.
