iPod by far. Zunes have always caused problems and they freeze. iPods are guaranteed to last. Go with the 5th Gen 16 GB Nano if you want to most space as possible

A pretty unbiased review of both. I would say go for the ipod touch it just offers more.

I would like to add to that video.
The updated firmware for the ZuneHD fixes the screen's sensitivity problem, improves the keyboard (Also makes it easier to erase URLs), and allows you to select whether you want it to display the mobile version of a web page or the full desktop version.
Also, the ZuneHD has the faster, more powerful NVIDIA Tegra processor, capable of handling more graphic intensive games.
Also, in the next update (Or the one after, can't remember) MS is adding flash support to the browser (So flash games, pandora, ect).

As an owner of the 30GB, 80GB, and the 32GB HD I can tell you that this is simply not true.
Zunes have not always caused problems and they do not freeze. AND they /are/ pretty much guaranteed to last, my Zune 30 is still kicking like they day I got it (A few weeks after they were released, during the Halo 3 edition special), and it sits in my car (Use it with my FM transmitter) where temperatures can range from 130*F to -5*F
Unless you're talking about the leap year problem the 30GBs had, when the internal calendar couldn't handle the 366th day, causing the device to lock up.

Another thing I'd like to add is all of the apps on the Zune are 100% free, you will not find an app you have to pay for. (And I believe that I remember reading somewhere that they will stay free)

Also, if you really want to compare tech specs: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/compare/apple-ipod-touch-3g--vs-microsoft-zune-hd

I'd recommend the iPod Touch or the iPod Nano. Both are great.

Hmm. I've never gotten a zune, but I do have an iPod classic, and it's great! I guess I'd recommend both.

ipod. apple has more to choose from. if you just want music, get the shuffle. if you want music photos and video, get the nano, if you want music apps photos videos internet, outstanding games, 50+ radios etc etc, the ipod touch is for you.

you dont have many choices for zune, except one is smaller and one is bigger like a fat brick with the same features and one is an ipod touch rip off. if you just want music but a microsoft fanatic, there is no zune just for music. there is no zune that takes video, there is now zune with a built in speaker, there is no zune with 100,000+ apps. but hey the zune offers 8 apps. there only 99,992 apps away from the itunes app store. so the zune is catching up. NOT. apple offers the more choices.

but this is your decision. go to what you feel like getting.

I say iPod. But if you want a Zune, go for it. It's mainly personal preference.

I know, I'm just sayin'. I hate when people hate on another product because it was made by someone else. Especially console haters. The most annoying.

Quoted for agreement.

Anyway, for the OP, my choice is iPod. I've never had much luck with zunes, simply because I got used to iPod's earlier, playing with my cousins.

But, that's my preference. You can make the final choice.

Microsoft is pretty up there in brand names. Think-- their name is on more than 85% oh the world's computers.

I'm gonna stop you right there.
The Zune supports more media formats than the iPod (And even formats the Zune doesn't support natively (.png, .aac, ect) the Zune software will convert during the sync)
'Accepted' =/= good quality
Syncing I find is just as easy, especially with sync profiles. (Plus the Zune has wireless syncing, which the iPod lacks)
And yeah, with what the post above mine states, Microsoft is one of the most widely known names out there. (Think Windows Mobile, Windows, Xbox, Zune, ect, ect.)

Zune-

HD
Cheaper

Zune offers a hell of a lot more than just being HD and Cheap. The only downside to it is that there aren't as many apps actually if Zune supported 3rd party apps without having to jailbreak it then i probably would buy one.

Kyle, it actually does.
http://www.zuneboards.com/forums/download-completed-games/34911-how-install-zune-games.html

And since most games come in a .ccgame package, all you have to do is double click on them & they will deploy to the Zune.

*note* This not any form of jailbreak for the Zune, this is something Microsoft actively supports.
