Does anyone get the Winter blues? I know I do. I take Paxil for anxiety and depression, but it just seems like my depression cuts right through at this time of year. This has been going on for about 4 years for me. Anyone else have this problem?

I wouldn't say I get really depressed, but I do feel tired more often and a little bummed out at how short each day is.

Nope.
I have the complete reverse effect.
I love winter.
I hate summer with a passion and I find my depression increases a lot during that season - which would trigger a whole bunch of things for me.

Its usually due to the difference in light & darkness.. Its been proven by research that polar night or day can cause depression in many individuals..
The same applies to winter or summer where the time of daylight and darkness greatly differ.
If you can be in fresh air for about an hour every day during daylight - it'll help a little, physical activity already does by itself.

I've suffered from two bad bouts of depression during the summer, one of them being this past summer. Other than that, I have suffered from depression for the past say 3 winters. Summer can be worse off for me with regards to phobia problems, I have more control in the winter. Meaning I am slightly happier in winter, which contradicts what I was saying. The last thing you want/need when you're feeling unhappy is happiness shoved in your face in the form of Christmas, another reason people could struggle this time of year perhaps. I actually really enjoy winter.
