Why am I so cold?
The metal of the blade
In my palm feels warm

Why am I so cold?
The warm blood of my veins
Is soothing my icy skin

Why am I so cold?
My shallow breath does not
Condense in the night air

Why am I so cold?
I wonder as the last of my heat
Leaves the tips of my hanging toes

Why am I so cold?
