I currently weigh 135lbs, which isn't that bad for my age. Thing is, I'm a very short kid, not even 5'. The height problem makes me look really chubby, so I'm hoping to lose some weight, maybe 10 - 15lbs.

So, can I ask, what are you're workouts? Any tips you can give me?

Eat better and train more.

There is no magic workouts or formula. Everything that makes you break a sweat makes you lose weight.

Actually, that's not true. There is one very simple, incredibly important formula that is central to weight loss:

Energy Out - Energy In = Weight Loss

And that's the totality of it. You have to create a caloric deficit by eating less calories than you burn for you to lose weight. So eat less, exercise more, and good luck to you.

Eat the same amount as you usually do, but eat more healthy food.
Go for a run a few times a week.

Everyone's pretty much nailed it. Eat healthy and exercise regularly and you should see the pounds drop off.

It's nothing magic or even remotely complicated, that's common sense, Captain Obvious.

You may not beleive this but think the average meal is 14 or more grams of fat. That is just one meal so if you look at 12 a day it must work.

Well of course, but it doesn't work because you're eating less fat, it works because you're eatin less calories. Fat is the most calorie-intensive food you can eat, per mass, so while it's especially important to focus on reducing fat intake one must still pay attention to overall calories ingested. If I ate loaves of bread all day I wouldn't eat much fat but could still easily become fat, if you see what I'm saying. :P

my brother is a kinesiologist and a physical trainer and he has taught me that a full body workout 3 days out of the week is the best bet if u want to lose fat you have to gain more muscle the more muscle u have the more fat and calories u burn the other 3 days of he week van be cardio fast walking, better running, intense swimming and or cycling and u must rest at least 1 day of the week to give youre muscles a rest and of course along side a proper healthy diet

The best way to loose weight safely is to just cut out fatty foods, and things you dont REALLY need such a crisps, chocolates etc.
I lost 5 lbs in one week eating cerial for breakfast with semi or skimmed milk…cerial such a weetabix (as this helps digestion) with fruit such a grapes (not bananna as this is hig in carbs)…for lunch, brown break with sliced white meat or ham woth plenty of salad and water to drink with some fruit.
then for dinner, steamed fish/chicked with salad or veg..try and cut out big amounts of potato, but if you do have potatio have a jacket spud.
no sauces such as mayonnaise etc…
drink plenty of water..and dont snack of crips & choccie….snack on fruit, rice crackers or low fat yoghurt. that was 5 lbs on one week, without excersie! imagine how much more i could have lost in that week with some gentle excersice!!!!!
hope this helps.

Best way to do is to first find something to motivate, better find someone to motivate you. If you find it hard getting up early in the morning even with your alarm get a parent or someone in your family that gets up early to wake you up. I'd say go see a dietitian or just use the web to find healthy recipes. Oh and another big thing with weight loss is self control say you walk into the kitchen and your not really that hungry but because your in the kitchen people automatically feel the urge to eat, all you have to do is tell yourself I'm not hungry yet. Set yourself a goal like losing at least a pound a week or getting half an hour activity in every day this week or not eat something like cake and maccas this week, but don't set you goals to high but also don't set them to low you still want to get somewhere. I'm only 16 I dont really have much more knowledge on diets but I hope this helps. If any1 wants someone to talk to pm me I'm always here to listen. Chow

with my training for swimming the thing we were told is not to eat less but eat better...and you can burn calories doing anything that gets your heart rate up and sweating. Low fat and low carbs (the body turns it into sugar) high protien ...gotta figure the details out for yourself :)

i suggest you to reduce in your diet carbonhydrates.(avoid bread pasta rice)

Try to eat more proteins , they are better than carbonhydrates to avoid the feeling of hungry.besides Eat vegetables and fruits!
moreover, drink a lot of water avoid sprite, pepsi, etc

There is no magic workouts or formula. Everything that makes you break a sweat makes you lose weight.

The best post in the topic so far. Increasing activity and thus exercising more, plus a monitored diet (how much you monitor it is depending on how seriously you wish to take the weight loss) = weight loss. There really is no magic formula. There's no substitute for hard work.

Increasing your cardiovascular activity is best for weight loss. Lowering your carbohydrate intake is also recommended, as well as cutting out snacking/cheat foods. Cardio work outs can consist of anything. Riding your bike, swimming, running, walking, jogging, sports, lifting weights with short recovery time and high intensity, etc. The possibilities and work out ideas are endless.
