I don't have any background info on this relationship of yours, but if you're going to choose to break up with this girl on the basis of things being 'boring' then I have to seriously question your morality. Relationships go through boring and rough patches. Suck it up. However if this is how it always is.....

Don't tell her you'd be better off as friends if that really isn't the case. Express your feelings honestly. You don't have to be an ass about it. Something along the lines of, "Look, you're a great person and perfect for someone else, but right now, but I think we should go our separate ways." If she asks why just tell her the truth. Things are getting stale.

In my experience, some one who you have been that intimate with is not easy to break up with. Allot of the time, you say you will be friends, but it is always really awkward, and if you get into another relationship, with another girl, generally speaking, they are not too keen on the idea of you being around an ex, especially if you were sexually active with them.

I mean there is a potability, all I gotta say is good luck.
