Find the documentary...watch it...learn how Michael Moore is NO different than Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly....oh wait....he lies more and is overall more of a complete hypocritical dumbass then they are. I don't understand how anyone could even fathom that Michael Moore is a good person...

I did enjoy his documentary on the health care systems.

I must hate America as well, because I agree with most of the things he's said over the years.

I've seen it, I don't condone this however. Like I said I agree with the stuff he did earlier but this put me off.

I'm a little iffy about Moore. I think he's got the right idea on certain things but I also think he's gotten his facts wrong a number of times. Whether or not you agree with him, I'm glad he's out there at least getting people to think about things.

What? What don't you condone? You don't condone Michael Moore's films or you don't condone Michael Wilson's film "Michael Moore Hates America"?

Yeah, I mean most people to me just want to curve the masses towards their way of thinking. To me Moore just puts these things out there and let's others intrepret it for themselves.

Michael Moore just doesn't "put information out there." In one of his movies (bowling for columbine, I think) he takes two separate speeches by NRA spokesman Charlton Heston and puts the two together...splicing out certain parts and taking both speeches completely out of context to make the NRA look like an unsympathetic group of uncivilized barbarians. Then somehow he claims that the NRA was created by the KKK! In reality the NRA was founded by UNION soldiers who were disappointed by the lack of marksmanship of the troops.

I'm sure this doucmentary skips on facts, too, Jared.

You don't have to be a Republican or a Democrat to make things up. I doubt Michael More hates America, that's more outlandish than anything Michael has said.

this again seems like a great thread for ROTW or atleast 4th wall....

Dude you aren't going to find a single documentary that doesn't have some form of researcher bias
Doesn't exist
You shouldn't take what he says at face value but he does raise some excellent points in allot of key areas

Michael Wilson admits to that. Michael Moore claims everything in his films are all truths and (in reference to the NRA bit) ONE meeting. Michael Moore blatantly lies to everyone.

Would you like a gold star?
Babe you're going to find that everywhere, period. Why? because people chalk it up to a difference of opinion.
Like in the global warming thread how you believe your sources and reject all others (im not attacking u im just tired and thats the first example i can think of)
In a democracy you will have differing versions of everyyything

On another note from the outside looking in Americans like their guns waaay to much
I went to a DU banquet in Anchorage Alaska and they were auctioning off fucking assault machine guns including an M16 and a P90.....you know...incase the duck turns out to be a commie, you bet ch'ya
Moore is trying to emphasis that, in my opinion he does more damage than good in doing so but hes the one with the millions so he must be doing something right

When he was talking about health care he put Canada on a shinning pedestal....not the case, wait times are a severe issue here (i'll still take it over Americas system tho)

Another thing you have to remember is Michael Moore is in it for the box office factor as well, he needs to sell the tickets and nothing does that better then comedy and controversy

I'm not saying hes a saint
But give credit where credit is due

I agree with that, yes. However the exact same can be said about Glenn Beck yet every single liberal hates his fucking guts. It's a bit hypocritical if I can be told someone I agree with is a horrible person, but I can't say someone you (not you Kodie, just a general you) agree with is a horrible person.

It's just this clashing that bothers me...liberals can hate glenn beck, but conservative who hate michael moore are "unamerican." Of course it works the other way around too...I'm not a dumbass...it just bothers me that some liberals can't see how Michael Moore and Glenn Beck are EXACTLY the same, only with different opinions. I can guarantee you that there are some conservatives who can't see that Glenn Beck is exactly the same as Michael Moore too...the ignorance just keeps growing on both sides.

I'm not saying Glenn Beck is a saint either, but I think he deserves credit for things he says as well.

They are basically the same, they are radicals, Moore uses his movies and Beck well he just brickwalls people and yells. I respect Moore as I liberal because I am one but he isn't the guy I admire as a liberal. I do however strongly disagree with beck, but he has his rights and often I enjoy listening to him and coming up with a rebuttle.

Omfg john!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And if you don't think Michael Moore is just as radical (I actually feels he is much more radical) as Glenn Beck....just wow....I don't know what to say. Glenn Beck at least admits when he's lying.

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't you, awhile ago, using Glenn Beck as a source of information in debates (lol) or at least you praised him ;P

Anyway that aside Kodie basically said what I would've said

Americans do love their guns WAYYY too much.
And they also "like" their country WAYY too much.
I was recently debating with some conservative dude and those are honestly the things he brought up and argued (when we were talking about race and respect) guns and patriotism.

Personally, I like M.M. I think he is a great filmmaker and is able to do what few do, make a political issue watchable and achieve widespread audiences. Even if you completely disagree, you have to admit that his movies are still entertaining and informative.

I have seen Sicko, Farenheit, The latest one, and Bowling for Columbine and I thought they were all great. Scary, yet awesome.
I typically agree with him, but he does not hate america. He loves this country which is why he makes these films and talks about Flint all the time.

Also, MM doesnt "paint a skewed picture of the nation". Basically everything he says is true about our nation. His haters are just in denial.

Y'know, some people like to collect guns. I know a couple of people who collect guns, but don't hunt ducks with them. I mean, waht's wrong with likeing guns anyway? Guns are pretty cool.

To the topic at hand, I think Micheal Moore's movies are pretty goofy. I think he's a jackass, personally, but that's just me. I think all radicals need to stop complaining about everything, especially Glenn Beck. Me and my dad both don't like him, but my mom does...

Not necessarily, when you actually do your research, you will find Michael Moore skews a lot of information to make the United States look worse than it really is. Michael Moore, to his credit, sees that there are problems, and he even pinpoints problems, but then he proceeds to blame the wrong people or the wrong things. Take for instance, his latest, "Capitalism: A love Story," which is a mischaracterization of what the American system really is; he blames capitalism, when in fact, it is not capitalism at all that has been the source of our economic woes. It is also a film that assumes America even utilizes true capitalism and free-markets, and not some neo-mercantilist, corporationist system (that the government created); this is, of course, an incorrect assumption.

Again, Moore sees there are problems, fair, but anyone can do a little research to find that there are problems. My gripe with him, as I have said, is that he does not just pinpoint the problem, but he goes on to incorrectly pinpoint the source, in many cases. In such, I see Moore as a person who spreads disinformation and contributes to the growth of widely held, but incorrect, assumptions.
