ok well in wood shop I was on a sander and my finger got caught in the sanding belt and well long story short, i now have no nail
so it really hurts
it's all sore when anything touches it
How long will it take to heal?
and what can i do to sorta numb the pain without using meds?

Owch! Without taking ibuprofen or something like that, all I can really recommend is to ice it. Also, keep a band-aid on it until it starts healing up. The extra layer might help so it hurts a little less when it bumps things.
It's going to take a while for the nail to fully grow back, because they grow so slowly, but it should start hurting less soon enough.

How did you get in the sanding belt? lol. Well it's not as worse as this girl in my school got her sweatshirt in the drill press- yeah let's skip to the point.
Your nail is going to take awhile. Maybe a month or so. I don't know.... all I can recommend is ice if you don't want to take any pain medication.
What did the instructor say to do?
Well anyway be careful next time.

Eh, not as bad as when this kid let his hair get in the grinder in metals class. Insta-scalp.
Anyway, the pain should disappear within a week or two, the nail however, will take at least a month to fully grow back, maybe longer.

Hmm I see. Was it like a um... I think it's called...well I don't know it's some kind of high powered sander with like the belt is like really wide and it spins at like about 400 RPM I think. Or 4000 I don't remember.

Paracetamol and Ibuprofen should both help to get rid of any pain, you might want to consider applying some antiseptic cream/lotion to it to reduce the chance of infection. Other than that it will just take time to heal.

Ouch! >.< Well, I don't know how long it will take to heal, but I would use antibiotic ointment and a band-aid so it doesn't get infected.
