After spending a few days away from my computer, I just noticed that my speakers have stopped working. I took out the jack from the audio port (it was in the correct one), but that didn't work. So I turned the speakers off and took the jack out and that didn't work either. Does anyone know why this might be happening? Is there a wire loose from the jack, or should I buy new speakers?

Did you restart your computer and try it again?

Could your computer be on mute?

Just restarted the computer. It's not on mute.

After restarting, I am only getting sound from the left side speaker. Any more ideas?

Make sure it's in all the way and try another pair of speakers to see if it's a problem with your computer or the speaker.

Ok, just unplugged everything for the speakers, shut the computer down, plugged the speakers back in and both of them are now working. Seems a bit weird, but I was thinking of buying a new pair of them anyway. Thanks for the help!

That's weird that neither of them worked. Then just one, now both. Usually when neither work the comp just got a sense of humor. When it's one it usually means the sound is only being sent to one of them, it's some weird setting. I dunno. As long as it's fixed, no problem.
