Agreed. Sound doesn't depend on whether you can hear it or not, it just is. Think of it this way: If the phone rings and the only person home is deaf, does it still make noise? xP

Lol. Is this even a legitimate question? Of course it does. There is no debate over this. The only reason we can hear things is because of our mind. It is just a sound and like Kaleidoscope eyes said, "Sound doesn't depend on wether you can hear it or not."

On a basic level what you're talking about is called epistemology, the theory of knowledge (truth, belief, and justification)
do you really "know"
or do you simply believe
