People blindly following the rules of society, thinking they're perfectly free and unique, when really, they're just birds with their wings clipped, trapped in a spacious box libeled freedom surrounded by the fire of the majority vote. Modern life is about being suppressed, about how well you adhere to society. Free-will? It doesn't come into it.

When an individual commits an action, it is scrutinized by society, criticized and punished if need be. If we are too different, 'weird' or considered a 'pain' by other people even if we are not talking to them or hindering them in any way, we are still at fault. Our lives are bullied by others out of existance until we are just clones of them, having little jobs like they do, having families like they do, because its normal, and you're a freak if you don't conform.
Correction, you don't get money and you can't live if you don't do as the majority vote want.

But is it really the majority vote anymore?

Isn't it the older generation that empower laws, that are obsessed with everyone doing as they want?

People reach a point in their life when they can no longer keep up the struggle against society and just go with it, happy or not. They just accept it as base and enforce it upon everyone else because they think it is the only way forward.

Well keep fighting. Keep being different. F*** the older generation. F*** people who oppose people being different, surpressing what they have to say. And if you do this, then grow some f***ing guts and a conscience and don't shove other people's recieved morals onto people who have the potential to be free.

We deserve more than your ideal way of life. Your 'peaceful' 'loving' way of life. Just because you f***ed up your chance for freedom and happiness and you could only settle with conforming with society doesn't mean the future generations lives should be sacrificed to continuing your waste.

Modern life is about being suppressed, about how well you adhere to society.

Care to name a time period where this was not the case? In retrospect, I think we're actually a lot better off these days than ever before.

Free-will? It doesn't come into it.

Sure it does. People choose to to the things they do, whether it's for their own good or not.

When an individual commits an action, it is scrutinized by society, criticized and punished if need be.

Like?

If we are too different, 'weird' or considered a 'pain' by other people even if we are not talking to them or hindering them in any way, we are still at fault.

So, if you're weird, then just do what I do. Make weird friends. Problem solved, chico.

Our lives are bullied by others out of existance until we are just clones of them, having little jobs like they do, having families like they do, because its normal, and you're a freak if you don't conform.

And being a freak is tons of fun. I'd -hate- being accepted by everybody, and no, I'm not being sarcastic here.

Correction, you don't get money and you can't live if you don't do as the majority vote want.

That's not true at all. In school, nobody's ever encouraged to become great musicians or artists, and yet we have millions of amazing ones.

Isn't it the older generation that empower laws, that are obsessed with everyone doing as they want?

Could you name a few examples of laws you disagree with that only exist because the "older generation" wants people to act a certain way?

People reach a point in their life when they can no longer keep up the struggle against society and just go with it, happy or not. They just accept it as base and enforce it upon everyone else because they think it is the only way forward.

Well, sucks for those people, huh? I'm pretty damned eccentric and I don't get hassled by anybody for it. I get a lot of strange looks, sure, and a lot of people may not like being around me, but I just laugh and take it in stride.

Well keep fighting. Keep being different. F*** the older generation. F*** people who oppose people being different, surpressing what they have to say.

F*** angsty teenagers who bitch and moan because some people don't like them.

And if you do this, then grow some f***ing guts and a conscience and don't shove other people's recieved morals onto people who have the potential to be free.

Aren't you shoving your own morals onto people? Funny how that works, huh.

We deserve more than your ideal way of life. Your 'peaceful' 'loving' way of life.

What does this 'peaceful' 'loving' way of life entail, exactly?

Just because you f***ed up your chance for freedom and happiness and you could only settle with conforming with society doesn't mean the future generations lives should be sacrificed to continuing your waste.

I think you're pretty ignorant, chap. Sure, a lot of people in the older generation fucked up, but a lot of people in every generation fuck up. A lot of them have lived very meaningful, successful lives, and you shouldn't take that away from them. Future generations aren't being "sacrificed", you're just being a whiny little bitch and overemphasizing the way things are. The younger generation is very often quite different from the older one, and people are more likely to conform to their own age group than the older ones.

Go back to Hot Topic, mmk?

Modern life is about being suppressed, about how well you adhere to society. Free-will? It doesn't come into it.

Not only is this false, it makes no sense. It's false because we all have free-will to do whatever we want. It makes no sense because these laws punishing people are in response to free will. Laws against murder are there to prevent something people CHOOSE to do. Saying free will isn't there makes no sense.

When an individual commits an action, it is scrutinized by society, criticized and punished if need be. If we are too different, 'weird' or considered a 'pain' by other people even if we are not talking to them or hindering them in any way, we are still at fault.

Human variety is endless so we are at fault for not fitting in? Makes sense but the problem is with your above quote where you say free will doesn't exist. In order for people to be "weird" or different, free will likely has to exist. Birth defects are possible regardless of free will but that doesn't account for most of the criticizing.

Our lives are bullied by others out of existance until we are just clones of them, having little jobs like they do, having families like they do, because its normal, and you're a freak if you don't conform.

Take a look around the world, even in a city. There's not one social class, there's many. If you are let's say in poverty then you may not conform to the social class of the wealthy so you simply go to (or forced) to the area of the poor. There's not one social class that's accepted and to think that there is such a thing is nonsense. I suggest you walk around your city and see how many different social classes there are and yet, people are fine. Homogeneity isn't needed and sociological studies have shown that rural areas with high homogeneity generally aren't harmonious even when everyone conforms.

Isn't it the older generation that empower laws, that are obsessed with everyone doing as they want?

You've lost me completely because apparently only the older generations care about the laws. This means that the younger generations do as they want, hence, free will. In the beginning of your post you said everyone lacks free will and everyone must conform. You're not making any sense. Do you have an example supporting your statement?

People reach a point in their life when they can no longer keep up the struggle against society and just go with it, happy or not. They just accept it as base and enforce it upon everyone else because they think it is the only way forward.

 If they live with it because they cant fight it, then why and how would they have the power and will to force others into it? If you're depressed and go with the flow of what you dislike, you're not going to suddenly force others to go with you.

Well keep fighting. Keep being different. F*** the older generation. F*** people who oppose people being different, surpressing what they have to say. And if you do this, then grow some f***ing guts and a conscience and don't shove other people's recieved morals onto people who have the potential to be free.

Is it just me or did you say others should live a certain way while in the same breath going against telling others how to live?

We deserve more than your ideal way of life. Your 'peaceful' 'loving' way of life. Just because you f***ed up your chance for freedom and happiness and you could only settle with conforming with society doesn't mean the future generations lives should be sacrificed to continuing your waste.

You may be surprised to know that societies are dynamic, they're not static. So even if society was this way you perceive it as, it is going to change. Now, in the real society, free will does exist and people don't all conform homogeneously because that still doesn't lead to complete, long-lasting happiness.

You're ignorant, don't understand sociology nor societies at all and have a warped view on life that ironically is what you dislike yet you cant recognize your warped view so you simply blame everyone else since you're for some reason correct. Go out in life and society and just observe without being incredibly pessimistic towards every single tiny little thing. It makes life a hell of a lot easier and it opens your eyes up to what is really there. Until then, continue in your ignorant ball of denial, depression, misunderstanding, pessimism and view that everyone lacks free will.

Perhaps taking a course in social psychology and sociology could show you what I mean.
