Do you like songs for the feeling or lyrics?

Do you usually like a song because of the lyrics, sound, feeling it gives you, or memories you attached to it or what? :)

I've noticed that I almost hate all my favourite songs... they just have memories attached to them... like I'm Yours by Jason Mraz... I love and hate it... :yummy:
And Morandi and the Chemical Brother's songs... I ignore the lyrics... just think the songs sound kool and happy.

The feeling is without a doubt the most important thing to me. Heck most of the music I listen to is instrumental anyway. Also I generally prefer very minimal lyrics unless I'm listening to a mc.

i love songs because of the meanings and the lyrics. its like something can relae to and something that will cheer me up when im sad :D
but some i just like becaue theyr just cool :D

I'll usually get drawn into a song by the melody and then later on I'll pay more attention to the lyrics. it's usually the emotions in the lyrics that keep me listening to the song.

Both. If a song has horrible lyrics, it will distract me from the feeling.

I like emotion in a song. If a singer can convey or even inflict emotion on me then it's a great song.

Alot of songs i remember for the memories/feelings but lyrics are something that attracts me to songs. like songs that describe how im feeling at a certain point. the rhythm helps too, i find i listen to things like linkin park when im in a pessimistic/apathetic mood, etc. it just depends really.

I like it for both. I bet you can't guess what my favorite music is by my username. All the songs by Metallica have awesome feel and well written lyrics. I love it all.

Many songs I listen to don't give me any particular feeling, but I do admire the lyrics and music of them. I never associate memories with them either. Why listen to music when all you do is associate it with feelings or specific times in your life? It would make listening to it a waste.

I favor sound a little bit higher than lyrics. Good guitars are the first thing I like in the song. But I also enjoy good lyrics with a meaning.

The lyrics if they speak to me sometimes tho i can gt lost in the rythym of the music and it helps me write so much when i find some songs with both brillant myrics and rythym

I like tracks for the feelings they portray,sometimes i find myself linking my life to the lyrics.
But the sound of them are important too.
