Lately, I've been a little stressed. And the reason is unknown to me. So, now my hair is falling out. I'll run my fingers through my hair, and when I look at the, it is all over them, Same for when I shower.

Can it be stress that's causing this?

Stress can be a factor in hair loss it's also been known to cause early greying of the hair. If you are running your fingers through your hair often then that also can contribute to it. Try eating plenty of fruit, that will keep your scalp moist and healthy. Watch how much you run your fingers through your hair. Also it's recomended that you only wash your hair, at least with shampoo, every other day. That way the natural oils in your hair have time to do their part before getting washed out.

Ryne, I never run my fingers through my hair, as it'll mess up. :P
I've already found my first gray hair, and I wash my hair every morning after my workout.

Fruits and vegetables are also not a problem.

I would say then that's it's probably just due to a lot of stress. Do what you can to relax.

stress can play a role in hair falling out.
try getting better shampoo or conditioner made for weakened hair.
happens to me.
but not due to stress
due to hair dye.

p.s everyones hair falls out.
but not drastically

Are you taking any new medications, even just something like an over the counter vitamin or supplement? I'd look into any changes like that which may have happened within a few motnhs or so of the time you started noticing this. I had a similar problem last year, and apparently it's a rare but known side-effect of a medication I was on. It was the same exact thing; running my hands through my hair and coming up with 5-10 shed hairs, several times per day, and noticing increasing amounts of hair clogging the drain in the shower. So, if you've started taking anything new within the last few months or more, and you know this wasn't happening before you started, maybe look into stopping it and seeing how that goes.

Otherwise, it's true that stress can be a factor. If you're so stressed that your hair is seriously falling out in worrying amounts though, that's really not a good sign. Talk to your doctor, see what might be up as far as biological factors go. They may want to do a blood panel to see what's going on. And work on your stress level, it's gotta be pretty high if you're losing noticeable amounts of hair.

Are you eating enough?

A few months ago, I was loosing my hair in clumps. after about a week i had a small patch that was bare.
Also wasn't eating. As soon as I was able to force myself to eat more, it started growing back (and I cut it short when it came back, so it wasn't too obvious)

It's just a thought that no one seems to have brought up yet.

Again, though, it does tend to lead back to stress. Everyone responds differently to it...

Well, now that you mention it, I have been skipping meals. I've seemed to be losing my appetite lately.

if protine deficancy isn't the cause, it's sure as hell not helping it.

That's true, malnutrition can cause your hair to fall out if it's serious enough. It happens to contestants on Survivor, and people with eating disorders... If it's a factor in your own hair issues, that's definitely a big neon sign pointing to, "Eat more." At the very least, make sure you're eating healthy when you do eat, get enough protein and vitamin C (vitamin C prevents scurvy xP).

Arg. Shiver me timbers, matey. It be the scurvy.

Maybe it is malnutrition. But I've experienced malnutrition on several occasions, and this has never happened.

overcome.

Malnutrition can indeed cause several things including hair loss. Extreme cases like anorexia can result in hair loss or even balding I've read in very severe cases. I know that's definitely not the case though, I know you're keenly into your training dude.

From your pics as well, from a bodybuilding point of view I can tell you have low body fat. But then again these things don't really result in hair loss. Stress is a factor like you've mentioned. If you're getting all of your vitamins, aminos, nutrients in and stuff, stress can do many awful things regardlesst. I know if you're trying to bulk up or even maintain bodyweight, do your best not to skip meals unless you can help it (work or school for example, or even a busy day). Only if you're cutting down. You're obviously knowledgeable on your training so I'm sure you probably know this anyway. But if you'd want to talk about anything like that then you can always PM me.

I'd say it's definitely worth seeing the doctor if this continues to happen. Another quick thing, washing your hair every day? I normally wash mine every other day, because washing every day can take a lot of the natural oil out of hair that you need for healthy hair. Little things could add up, it could be a combination of things.

I went to the clinic. The guy basically said I've been rough on my scalp. My shampoo has been drying out my scalp, and when I style my hair, I kind of pull on it to get it up, plus I wash my hair alot.

stress is a major factor for hair loss. I mean I got really stressed out and depressed and had I dime size patch of hair missing. Now that was a funny thing to see when it started growing back in...lol but yes stress will cause hair loss.

Hair loss factors are;
Stress
nutrition
hair product
wearing hats to much or often
sleep deprivation
not enough sunlight
Even changes in your climate and environment

Dont shower more then three times a day. Comb your hair at least once a day. Only use the slightest amount of product if any and try not to use a hairdryer unless needed. Try not to wear hats for long periods of time or when wet (in rain, pool, lake, river).
