Left behind
In a desert,
With no one
To trudge forward with.
Stuck in isolation
With no hope,
But castles abound
And a bucket,
Also left behind.
It is a red bucket
With a yellow handle,
Made for a child,
But not by a child.
It just lays there,
With nothing to do.
It takes no action,
Nor does the sandal
In the sandbox.
They both wait
And wait
To cross the desert.
But neither finds the courage
To make it all the way across.
In a desert,
With no one
To trudge forward with.
Stuck in isolation
With no hope,
But castles abound
And a bucket,
Also left behind.
It is a red bucket
With a yellow handle,
Made for a child,
But not by a child.
It just lays there,
With nothing to do.
It takes no action,
Nor does the sandal
In the sandbox.
They both wait
And wait
To cross the desert.
But neither finds the courage
To make it all the way across.
