On a lonely day I began to walk
I met a stranger on this walk
With this stranger I began to talk
He felt my pain
I felt his
He showed me trust
And all it is
But on this stroll
I walked too far
With this guilt
I’ll pay the toll
I talked too much
I sang a song
He shouldn’t know
Even this long
So, on this walking path
With this talking wind
We split apart again
Still we talk
When we are close
And still we walk
Farther than most
But in this shame
I count my days
Till our stories
Can be the same
I met a stranger on this walk
With this stranger I began to talk
He felt my pain
I felt his
He showed me trust
And all it is
But on this stroll
I walked too far
With this guilt
I’ll pay the toll
I talked too much
I sang a song
He shouldn’t know
Even this long
So, on this walking path
With this talking wind
We split apart again
Still we talk
When we are close
And still we walk
Farther than most
But in this shame
I count my days
Till our stories
Can be the same
