If this has been asked before, I'm sorry.
So I mess around with a lot of people in drama club. Now I don't mean having sex, I mean just, you know we joke around and stuff. Guys, girls, whatever, we know it's a joke, and so does everyone else...except for when it comes to this guy Aaron who according to some people I am "turning him gay".
Yeah.
Even though I do the same thing, and sometimes even more extreme joking with other people, and people don't seem to bitch about that!
So, what's your opinion? Are people born gay? Do they become gay?
I don't really remember casting any magic gay-love spell on him but...whatever.

I believe that we are born with no sexuality, as our sex drive hasn't developed yet.
Though, I do believe, that the chemical makeup of your brain, determines how your sex drive develops, which in turn determines your sexuality.
So short answer, we're born with no sexuality, then our sexuality develops with the rest of our body during puberty.

I think it's a combination of both. I don't think anyone is born completely straight or gay, but I think genes influence sexual preference a little bit. I also don't think that people just go from straight to gay. I think your environment and other external factors do influence sexual preferences as well. I don't feel it is one or the other...it's a combination of both.
It's like criminality. Are people born criminals or are they taught? Some people argue that genes have a heavy influence on criminality and others argue that it is just how people are raised and what environment they grow up in. I think most people agree that both influence criminality.

Sexuality develops during puberty. But I think everyone is programmed to go a certain way.

I don't think anyone ever choose their sexuality.
I wouldn't have chosen to be Bi if I had have known how much shit I would get for it. I'm happy with it now though :)

I think you're born straight/gay until your body starts to develop and you realize what you desire.
I've always been straight, but since June (when I had sex with a girl), I've found woman to be very attractive. I've been questioning my sexuality, though. I loveee guys (especially my boyfriend<3), but I like girls. Idt I'd ever date a girl, though.

I find this an awfully hard question to answer. My personal view is that a person not born one way or the other and depending on different circumstances (especially in the early years) a person can begin to lean a certain way.

Science seems to disagree http://www.livescience.com/health/060224_gay_genes.html
While I'm pretty confident because of studies like these that sexual orientation does in fact have something to do with genetics, I'm also sure that certain experiences (rape, etc.) could alter the way someone would view a certain gender.
I voted for born.

Care to elaborate? Because frankly I think people are born gay, and the denial of that is rather ignorant. Its because I don't think anyone would make a choice, that would make them outcast, have others make fun of the, have some hurt them so badly by certain words/actions. I think that anyone who is willing to put themselves through that much, just to love someone.

I voted for born gay, although you can also become it, but it's mainly down to birth. Statistics have found that boys with little to no good (if at all) parenting from the father's side are more likely to be homosexual. This does not mean to say that all gays have bad fathers or that this is an important variable, becuase I don't think it is.

well i fell that Freuid ( i think it was him) was mostly right in sayingthat:
people are born bisexual and develop homo or hetero sexuality through experiences
however Death has pointed out to me that asexual should be put in the place where it says bisexual
