I was speaking to a friend of mine.
we were dicussing many different topics.
he offered me a business deal.
I look up to this man.
I kindly accepted and will go into business with him.
however, he brought up a very enlightening topic.
as many of you know, I'm a scavenger for knowldge.
I absorb as much philosoply as possible.
it is all i have.
to be rich is an acheivement, its a good thing.
if you think not, then look around.
your mother doesnt need that riding lawn mower, or that trashcan, she gets them because of money.
if you think money is evil.
wait untill you cant buy your daughter that doll.
or you cant afford food for your family.
money will get you respect, and it will feed the economy.
all in all, the world would not function if you didnt try to achieve the highest postition possible.
so what do you think?
money = evil
money = goal
discuss...

I don't think money is good or evil. It's the pursuit of money that can get people in trouble. If your daughter needs a doll you can make one. If you need food for your family, you should have thought about that before you had a family, and/or you can grow you own food.

i look at money as simply being a good thing. it helps you get what you want for whomever you want, i know that people say that money changes you and makes you not a nice person but its not the money thatas forcing you to become bad, its just your weakness.
anyway i am in a very materialistic mood today!!:D

Well money is complicated, because if someone hadn't invented money than everyone would get everything free..... which would mess up the economy.
But money is a good thing, considering things have a prace than we need money.

thats a very foolish comment.
before money there was trade.
and in other countries trade still plays a large roll.
for example: billy might have given steve four goats for a large supply of corn.
or, billy would have given steve a large chunck of gold for a stretch of land.
be sensible.

Your right, i should have thought of trade. But who said trade would have lasted through the ages. Someone would have come up with a better system, not money, but some system. And anyways money is trade. I'll trade you five dollars for your goat.

exactly, trade developed to fit a more modern lifestyle.
business started to arrive and a more simple method was needed.
it was necessary for us to make a widespead currecny.
thus we did.

K it is not that money is evil, what it is is usaly the power associated with money that is evil. As Lord Acton once said,"Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." So even if you were to abolish money as we know it it would not help, b/c their will alway be people with and without power.

GREED is the problem
not money
The persuit of mass amounts of money is bad
the desire to protect and take care of those you love is not
I've been dirt poor and that sucks
I've been rich and that sucked
I like middle class
I see my family
we have the time and the money to go on trips like to jasper or the skeena
Were not terrified of bills
Were not so exhausted from work that we dont have time to do anything else even as simple as grocery shopping
yada yada yada
plus were not selfish
my aunt is loooooaded
like filthy rich
shes also the most self centred
cheep
arrogant
minipulative bitch ever to walk this earth

I have taken your comments into thought.
I think that money is a good thing to strive for.
money, happiness, pleasure.
you may call these things *sinful* but I call them goals.
I want more money, more happiness, more pleasure.
and though they may be of the 'flesh' to you, they are what we are alive for to me.
money cant buy you happiness.
hinting they are two different goals.
you have to do two differnt things to reach them.
its all about social and economic communication.
greed is bad.
but what is greed.
were does greed end and pleasure begin.
life is a composure of short, happy moments.
its a five second orgasim, a ciggerete, a cookie.
money= excellent....my family is worth a lot of money and all my life i have been able to spend as much money as i wanted..ive loved it, i get whatever i want and whatever i need with money...I couldn't imagine any1 thinking money as evil

tut tut double post matt lol jk jk
i think money should be earned honestly, not won on the lottery because you havent worked hard for that money, my dad works hard and does as much overtimes as he can, and he gets the rewards from doing that, like a nice car, nice house list a nice life, hes 49 now and hes always looked after money, he always saves up.. so yeah, im the same really, i dont spent loads of money on clothes and junk.. what im saying here is money should be aernt honestly and spent with care

It just annoys me when people think they are better than others because they have more money.

I don't agree with that.
You shouldnt get whatever you want whenever you want it.
You won't learn if things happen that way.
Should I ever have a lot of money, I wouldnt just go off buying things.
I would still live in an average house, with an average life.
my children would be brought up learning the value of hard work and a good education.
I'm pretty conservitive when it comes to family i guess you could say.
