View Full Version : Macs: What I like and don't like

What I don't like:
1. I don't like that I burn myself whenever I touch my MBP. It could be that it's just old...

2. I don't know, but it seems like macs are great at first, but then slow down to PC quality (sorry)

3. Hard to customize. Macs are so hard to break into and modify. I've had some luck with my Dock, but not much else.

What I like:

1. They are some tough-ass computers. I have dropped my laptop something like 15 times and it still works (mostly)

2. They are truly beautiful. What an honor it is to be able to say "I designed that work of art." I wish I designed Mac computers!

3. They have an awesome reputation. Why not give it a shot? Think about the iPod, iTunes, and Safari 4. I know many many many PC users who love these. If they work so well and they're so popular, why not switch?

got to go but please leave a reply about what you really like/don't like about your computer. my old MBP has been in use for an exhausting 1.5 hours and needs some charging time lol.

What I like:
Um....

What I dislike:

The look. Just a PC that looks nice
I'm not spending $1000+ on a computer, when I can get a nice one for 600
I hear they crash a lot
What Tim said. Apple is a cult

What I like:
They don't get (as many) viruses.
They look awesome.
Mac OS X.

What I don't like:
The price.
For all features, it needs Windows on Boot Camp or something else, which costs money.

I am a mac person. A mac person is a very credible person to ask about computers. Since most of the world ignorantly uses Windows, a mac user knows how to use both very well.

Apple is SO freaking innovative! they seem to know what the average consumer wants and needs, and they know where to add and where to subtract. How many features on Word do you actually use? Some of them. the others are just there for the few people who find them at all convenient.

Apple also OWNS several markets:
All-in-one desktops. Other companies just can't compare to thi imac. I use 3 of em.
MP3 players. iPod is the most advanced and most used.
Laptops. Sure, most people don't own macbooks, but macbooks are more widely used than any other laptop model.
Smart phones. There's an app for that.

see what i mean? apple FTW!

Mmk, long post time.

Like/love:
Mac OS X. 'Nuff said
The GUI is amazing, simple, and pleasing.
Graphics, the macbook pro's have amazing graphics, not only that, but can run all of the top of the line graphics programs, Adobe, Adobe, and Adobe.
The native applications are all you need, music management, photo management, mail, contacts, calendar, and a web browser.
The audio is... amazing, the top DJ's choice: Mac. I'm blasting music right now, and it sounds amazing.
And, to the building of them. The macbook pro's are really, really [email protected]#$% tough. I dropped mine from 3ft, and all that happened was a small dent. My dad dropped his HP laptop from, like, 2 feet, and had to replace his DVD drive.
And they dont have those annoying Intel stickers, or the XP stickers that cut my arms as a kid.

Mac OS X is really good at networking, Bonjour for regular users, and Mac OS X Server for the small business to the worldwide company. It has email, chat, website, calendar server, podcast, VPN, all that good stuff. They also have 3 amazing machines meant to run Snow Leopard Server.

PLUS Mac OS X didnt copy windows, but windows copied Mac OS X. CLICKY (http://www.tuaw.com/2009/11/11/microsoft-manager-admits-to-copying-mac-look-and-feel/)
They also didnt copy Microsoft's store, once again, Microshit did CLIKCY (http://www.tuaw.com/2009/10/24/microsoft-retail-store-opening-in-az-copies-freely-from-apple-st/)

And if you were to get a PC with the same stats as a mac, including size, material, ect, it would be in the thousands too.

"What we've tried to do with Windows 7 – whether it's traditional format or in a touch format – is create a Mac look and feel."

What I like: All of them fancy screenshots I have seen all over the place.

What I dislike: Nothing as of yet but I will find out tommorow when we pick up a mac from a friend.

Hopefully I will grow to love it! :D
