Saliva won't hurt you, don't worry. The teeth won't cause damage unless they were scraping but it isn't bad. As for the teeth part tell him to suck his lips back so they cover the teeth.

Like everyone has said, if you're both first timers there's no problem from saliva, there would only be a problem if he had an STI. It would be just about impossible to get a bj without saliva getting on your penis.
