My sound doesnt work on my comp and i know the speakers arent broken because i plugged my mp3 player into it and it works. i go to control panell and click on sounds and audio devieces and under the volume tab it says no audio device

I assume your on windows, go down to the lower right corner and click on the speaker, than see of it's on mute.

This happened to a friend's laptop once. Tried everything I could think of, but nothing worked. When she got it back, the speakers suddenly worked. I'm not sure what would have caused that to happen.

Anyway, the best bet is the drivers. Try to get the latest drivers for your sound card.

and how do i do that? i have no clue what a sound card is or what type of brand it is or where to get them

Ok then, your best bet is to just go to Windows Update and see if there is anything to update. :|
