*Playing call of duty* FUCK YEAH HEADSHOT!! *Looks at 360* Why the hell is the power button red?!
Has that ever happened to you? Wanna fix that damn red ring? Its pretty simple [/corny]
First, unplug everything BUT the power cord
Turn on the xbox and wrap it in 1 or 2 towels and leave it on for 20 minutes
After 20 minutes has passed turn it off and let it cool for about 5-10 minutes
The next time you turn the xbox 360 on the red ring should should gone!
This will allow you to get 3 more days of kicking ass on Live before sending it back to microsoft for repairs
Im pretty sure everybody knows about this, but whatever :l

I would NOT try this, all youre doing is temporarily heating the joints, you will most likely make the 360 irreparable. Anyone who has RROD should either send is back to ms or take it to a repair shop who will either replace the X clamp or replace the nuts and bolts on the current one.

LOL!!! My friend tried a ton of different ways to fix it himself, he gave up when none of them worked, so he sent it into Microsoft, 2 weeks, he got it sent back saying they couldn't fix it due to it being tamped with. :P Song FTW

If you're not under warranty, you only have to pay $100(haha, forgot to put that in here) to have your 360 "reparied"(they don't really repair, that just replace it most of the time). IF you're under warranty, you don't have to pay a dime.

A method that I've found that works like a cham is...
Take apart your xbox (I'd only do this if you're not under warranty).
Un-plug the fan in the back, turn the xbox on.
Let it overheat, then pull the plug. (May take up to 10 minutes)
Take the X clamp off the GPU, and remove the thermal paste from both the heatsink & the GPU chip itself (The chips should be reflective like a mirror when fully cleaned).
Turn the xbox on again, and let it overheat, then again, pull the plug. (This shouldn't take more than 15-30 seconds)
Place a silver-based thermal compound on the GPU, and spread it evenly using the spreader card provided. Run up to your local hardware store with one of the 'pegs' in the heatsink, and find bolts that match the thread. You'll also need some rubber washers to fit the bolts.
Using 2-4 rubber washers on the bolt, thread the bolt through the motherboard and into the GPU heatsink on all 4 'peg holes'. Tighten them enough to where they are secure, but DO NOT over-tighten them. Doing so can crack your GPU/MOBO.
*** MAKE SURE YOUR HEATSINK IS PARALLEL WITH THE MOBO ***
Make sure you can turn your xbox on and get to the dashboard, if you can't, just let it overheat one last time.
Plug your fan back in, and put your xbox back together.
Using this method, your xbox should last twice as long as it lasted before you got the RROD.
It's worked for my & my bro's xbox.

Just send it to the company or buy a new one saves you time and money also it keeps you from fucking it up anymore.

My friend did the towel wrap one and it fixed it for months. It acted up again so he overheated it a second time and it fixed it till today. Which is a year and some off months now.

Short answer...No
Long answer....NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Xbox 360 actually has more choice for games, if you can deal with the problems, it's fine.
