Here's a question for you. You say you want to build a better relationship with your parents? Is that relationship really worth less to you than a piece of metal?

Sometimes you're just going to have to wait for things. Everyone has to go through years where your parents will disallow you things that you want, in most cases they just believe they're doing the best for you. In 4 years, you can do whatever you want. It's really not a long time when you look at it.

So before you do anything, consider this. You can try to persuade your parents, but don't push things, don't put that relationship with your parents at risk.

Yep, definitely agree with Embelism. Besides, in a few years time - and not saying that this WILL happen - you may look at the piercing and wonder why you even got it in the first place. You know? xD Our attitudes and wants and needs change all the time... and so quickly, too!

Why do you want to mutilate yourself? It might be "in" now, but what about if you get an infection or something? It's like people who put those rings in their earlobes. The kind that you have to keep getting bigger and bigger, those earlobes will NEVER shrink back. eww They will look like those people in Africa who put plates in their lips and stuff.

Because people your age tend not to take care of the piercing. A piercing is literally a wound that you just keep open. And plenty of people who do get piercings, also get infections.
