Changing thread title

Sorry, cant reply in the previous thread as its been locked, but the solution of double-clicking next to the title as suggested here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showpost.php?p=684643&postcount=3) doesnt work for me.

I've tried in both IE and firefox and double-clicking next to the title does nothing at all. Any suggestions as to why ? Is it just me ?

Yeah, its the same for me. im using google chrome. i cant change them either :S

That's funny. I used to be able to change the title of my own threads...

This is what I've always used....

You go to your first post of the thread, and you click the quote button. Where it says the title, you just delete that and put whatever you want.

That doesn't change the title of the thread on the main page. I've tried that (The "what are you wearing thread' has a typo in it and it drives me nuts.)

mhm, that doesnt explain why the double click doesnt work for me. I actually have no great desire to change a title atm, but wonder why it seems to work for some people but not for me.

I learned something from Ant today. I've only had to change a thread title once before.

Nick, maybe it's where you're clicking. You want to click just barely to the right of the link, or else you hit the link and click onto the thread

OK, well I've tried it again, and, even odder, it works for some threads but not for others.

No, if anything the opposite. For example in The VT Daily Chronice at the moment the only one of my threads that the double click works for is the "Scooby Doo too dangerous for children" thread that was posted today.

The threads I've posted i can change, maybe Nick you have to click the left and not the right, that's how mine seem to work, if i click the right it won't work but the left side does...

Nope, thats not it, for those threads where it works at all I can click either to the right or the left (haha, appropriate for me, I can click both ways) but for those threads where it doesnt work it makes no difference which side I try.

I thought that was what Ant meant, that you can't change the title once it has been more than 24 hours since posting the thread. Not that it has to be 24 hours before you can.

*FACEPALM* of course that's what he meant, stupid me.

I guess that's fair enough, I mean its not something I would normally want to do anyway, I was just curious as to why it wasnt working.
