Soldier Story
Bound by his chains so tight
He struggles to the morning light
When dawn breaks his soul I crushed
His run to freedom has just been hushed
While he lay with his eyes awake
He’s body trembles as he quakes
With bars that block his clear view
He dreams a dream of redemptions renew
Silently the years have gone
But never has his voice been done
His long lone story tells a strong tale
About the fight he intends not to fail
This he knows is not his fate
To find his life he can only wait
Till his time begins its lift
For this false imprisonment to shift
A hero of his own he has become
Awaiting the day his rescue can come
His eyes hold the steady gaze
On the barrier to part and lead his way
So long to him a majestic one
His noble deed will be done
And not a tear will his eyes shed
He will triumph with pride till he is dead
Bound by his chains so tight
He struggles to the morning light
When dawn breaks his soul I crushed
His run to freedom has just been hushed
While he lay with his eyes awake
He’s body trembles as he quakes
With bars that block his clear view
He dreams a dream of redemptions renew
Silently the years have gone
But never has his voice been done
His long lone story tells a strong tale
About the fight he intends not to fail
This he knows is not his fate
To find his life he can only wait
Till his time begins its lift
